The Beginning of the Journey

Kren was reading through his journals tonight... he was pretty tired from the days' activities. Then the door chimed.

"Enter" Kren mumbled... not really wanting any company, but curious all the same. He had pretty much stayed on his own through the Academy and it was nearing time to find out where he would be assigned.

It was Commodore Philbin and he entered the dorm room with a data pad. "It looks like you're going to pass the Academy, Cadet. I suppose you're pretty curious to find out where you'll be going" Philbin seemed to be in quite a good mood for a Training officer.

Kren was immediately at attention...."Sir !. I go where I am told. Nothing more" He was more curious than he let on, but that was the norm for Kren.

Commodore Philbin chuckled. "I see you will be a fine officer. Probably sooner than later. Here, take this, its your orders and good luck." He said with a smirk.

Officially the Academy year had not finished and none of the cadets had officially graduated, which meant Kren was still officially a fourth year Cadet. Philbin walked out, leaving Kren with the data pad. Kren looked down at the pad, barely flipping the switch to turn it on.

The readout on the pad read as follows:

Tour of Duty for Kren sutai Rustazh
Tactical Officer
USS Leviathan-B

There was a lot more detail about his new ship and Kren looked at it twice over, instantly memorising the assignment. He then proceeded to set his items in order for immediate departure to Spacedock. It is going to be a long day tomorrow, too.

The next day, Kren boarded a transport vessel heading for Utopia Planitia where within hours the ship had been put onto high alert and headed off towards Deep Space Nine and the Gamma quadrant.
