New Assigment

<The time is 0530 hours> the computer said to an all ready awake Ambrose who was laying in bed thinking for at least a hour.

"Today is the day I leave this boring job and start a new assignment. I wonder what type of ship she'll be. Oh what the hell," he said out loud. He continued what he was saying to himself, "A star ship is a star ship!"

He got up and walked over to his closet and pulled out his only hanging uniform and put it on. He looked at his rank insignia and thought *If I would of paid more attention to my studies in math I would of been able to have been a commissioned officer instead of an appointed one. Oh well that's life.*

Ambrose grabbed his bag and walked out of his quarters and to the Starbase's famous Cafe. It was owned by a retired Master Chief Warrant Officer that was part human and part Romulan who had served honourably for about 46 years as a Starfleet transporter Chief.

Kirk went and sat down by his former girlfriend an Ops officer aboard the station who had managed to put their relationship on hold and now were friends.

"Hello Alice." Kirk said.

She gave him a good morning smile and said, "I am taking you to McKinley station in one hour so I will be able to see my old friend's star ship."

Kirk felt good that he was travelling with his old love. He ate his Bajorian breakfast when a call for him came through. [Mister Ambrose this is Admiral Hawthorn.]

Ambrose tapped his comm badge. "Ambrose here. Go ahead sir."

[Mr.Ambrose your Shuttle is leaving in 23 Minutes at docking bay six. Your orders that state what ship your assigned to will be sent to you in
an hour. Good luck son. Hawthorn out] Kirk looked over at his Human female friend. "Lets go get the shuttle ready." She stood up and walked away and left Kirk alone.

The old chief walked over to Kirk and shook his hand and said, ."Good luck my friend."

Kirk didn't say anything and walked out to a new step in his life.
