To The Beta Quadrant

Captain's Log Stardate: 60156.2.

The *Leviathan's* crew is all a board and finally ready to meet the challenges and perils of the Beta Quadrant. The ship is in its peak condition as it was when we had taken her out the first time. I plan to keep her that way for a lot longer than last time. My crew is rested and ready to face the challenge and I am proud to be here in command with such a crew and such a ship.

On the Bridge, Captain Devore had looked over his PADD given to him by the yeoman. Lieutenant Harris sat next to him in his chair looking over the departmental reports. Mr. Ambrose was at the helm totally excited at the first chance to put the ship in to warp. A preflight check was being conducted by Lieutenant Rhoukann at Ops while Lieutenant Toran insured that all systems were battle ready. Lieutenant Shaka was sitting at the Slip Stream station making sure that the drive was operational and full ready to go, while Lieutenant Hansen was in engineering taking counts of his personnel.

"Captain, all departments report 100% ready," Harris said turning to the Captain.

"Very well. Lieutenant Toran open a channel to Space Dock," Devore said.

A few presses of the button and the channel was open, "Captain, channel open."

"Leviathan to space dock. Request permission to disembark."

[Leviathan you are cleared to disembark. Good luck and Godspeed.]

"Thank you space dock. Leviathan out. Mr. Ambrose prepare impulse engines. Mr. Rhoukann. Release mooring clamps. All hands this the Captain. Secure all decks and prepare to leave space dock." All the systems of the Leviathan flickered as the external power connection from space dock were severed, then instantly the ship was now powering her own systems. The external lights and the flashing strobe lights began to commence their eternal vigilance as the steady pulse of the warp core came on line.

[Captain] Hansen said. [Warp core online ready on your mark]

"Very good Lieutenant."

"Sir, the slip stream drive is on line as well," Shaka said as she adjusted the antimatter matter maturation levels for the ss drive.

"Okay. Mr. Ambrose take us out 1/8 impulse." Ambrose slide his finger along the slide rule for the impulse and the Leviathan slowly manoeuvred out of the dock. A few minutes later the ship was clear.

Lieutenant Rhoukann said, "Captain, we have cleared space dock."

"Outstanding. Mr. Ambrose. Set a course bearing 223.3 warp 9."

"Aye sir."

"Take us into the stream."

The moment Ambrose had waited for. He punched in the co-ordinates and at the Captain's command hit the combination of keys that engaged the Ss drive. The ship stretched as it increased its velocity to warp 9.

"Beta Quadrant. Here we come," Harris said with a smile.
