Lieutenant (JG) Toran
March 5, 2383
USS Leviathan : Bridge

Toran looked around the Bridge from the Captain's chair. He felt odd sitting there. *This isn't my seat*, he thought. Ambrose had returned to duty leaving Toran with a small sense of relief. The Leviathan had been traveling for almost a full day back toward the ejected warp core. However in a few days, it was projected to recover the core. To his recollection Devore, Harris, Hansen, and Shaka were still in sickbay recovering from their encounter. All four still in a coma. Despite the doctor's best efforts, they all lay albeit lifeless in their biobeds.

"Mr. Ambrose," Toran called to the helmsman, "what is our ETA?"

"52 hours Captain," Ambrose replied invoking Naval tradition.

"Please Mr. Ambrose, don't call me Captain," Toran replied uncomfortably.

"Mr. Rydar," Toran began as he turned his attention to the tactical console, "what is our weapon status?"

"All tactical systems at 100% sir," Ryder replied. "The computer has returned to normal operation."

"Confirmed Sir," Lieutenant Rhoukann added from the Operations console, "the intruder seems to have left."

"No he hasn't," Dr. Clairidge's voice called from the back of the bridge, "all four officers that had contact with the intruder are reading two distinct sets of brainwaves."

"So you're telling me that they all have this man's brain inside theirs," Toran asked doubtfully.

"No," the Doctor replied, "only part of it. Each officer received a part of the intruder."

The security officer in Toran took over, "Mr. Rydar, I want sickbay secured, those four are to remain under constant supervision."

"You won't turn my sickbay into a battle zone," the Doctor interrupted.

"Doctor," Toran replied angrily, "unless you plan on taking command of this ship, and we both know that you are not qualified to do so, then sickbay will be secured. There is a potential threat to the Leviathan. As her Security chief AND as her temporary CO, it is my duty to diffuse it. Do I make myself clear?!"

"Don't forget that I outrank you Lieutenant Junior Grade Toran," Clairidge retorted as she pointed at the two gold pips on her collar.

*A challenge* Toran thought. "You're bitching is quite amusing," Toran responded, "but if you check your regs, you'll see that right now, my rank is Captain, at least until the Captain wakes up. In other words, it's my show."

The doctor looked disgusted when she realized that Toran was right.

"Doctor, clear the bridge," Toran ordered. Clairidge turned to leave the bridge and Toran decided that it would be best not to force her into proper protocol.

"Well I just came up to tell you, the Lieutenants Hansen and Harris are back. Captain Devore is back in his quarters temporarily, Lieutenant," Dr. Clairidge said with a slight smirk. She got the last word in as always. About 20 minutes later, the over head com system went off. It was the Captain.

[All senior officers report to the conference room.]
