"Lieutenant Hansen. Please report to the Captain's ready room." [Acknowledged, Sir.] Captain's Log: Stardate 0184.3 Finally with the removal of that " talaxivulandoriborg", we can get to the missions at hand. I am happy to say we have suffered no casualties, nor damage. Lieutenant Hansen has informed me that the warp core is being recovered now, and the SS drive is being examined by Lieutenant Shaka. According to both, we should be underway in about 12 hours. I have ordered Mr. Ambrose to proceed at 1/2 impulse, better to make some ground then none. Lieutenant Shaka has recovered from her "shocking" but still has tingling in her antennae. Well I just glad that I didn't lose anyone this time. I was going over some profiles and noticed a few things that were disturbing. I knew about Lieutenant Shaka's past but Lieutenant Hansen. I would never had guessed he had any kind of trouble, but I just wanted to know. End Captains Log. The door bell rang. "Come." "Good afternoon, Captain." Lieutenant Hansen said as he entered and the door shut behind him. "You wanted to see me." "Yes Lieutenant. Please sit down. Would you like some coffee?" "No sir." "Hmm. Well I am going to have some. You sure?" "Yes sir." "Computer. Cup of french roast coffee- hot. Black." Within seconds a steaming cup of coffee appeared in the replicator. Devore took it and sat down. Steam rose from the cup as he tried to take a sip of it. "Ahhh. Just the way I like it. You sure you don't want anything?" "Sir, with all due respect. There is a lot of work to be done." "Okay Lieutenant. You need to relax a bit. I have something to ask you. I was going through your personnel file and you know what," Devore asked as he turned his computer around. "There isn't anything on you." "Sir?" "There isn't anything about you, where you grew up, when you graduated, hell, if you have a wife." Devore paused to take a sip of his coffee. "So I called my boss, Rear Admiral Beard and you know something, he doesn't have anything on you either. Why is that Lieutenant?" Hansen sat there and looked Devore in the eyes. "Sir, I don't know. Human error maybe." "Mmmmm. I don't think so. You know something else?" "What sir?" Hansen said uncomfortably. "Tell me about that implant in the back of your neck?" Devore said as he leaned back in his chair. "Yes Lieutenant. I've seen it. I know that you are covering it up somehow, but I have seen it especially when you came on board. Please enlighten me." Hansen let out a deep breath. *I guess I had better tell him.* |
