Remains Of the Past

Grant's new friend left around 00:00 hrs and he felt a lot better since he spoke to the young ensign. She seemed to be a good listener and understood him quite well. He was happy to have talked to her for a number or reasons a few of them being quite obvious. Harris picked up a PADD and began to record his personal log.

First Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 2460233

I feel that being assigned to this ship is fate. This funny thing called fate has revealed to me that I am here for two reasons: One was for redemption and the other a second chance at life.

Grant walked over to his replicator and ordered a cup of Irish cream coffee, and unzipped his tunic. The replicator never did get it right but he so did enjoy Irish cream, so he grinned and bared the computer ill attempts. He took his coffee and went over to his desk and started to wrap a present for the captain.

[Lieutenant Toran to Commander Harris]

Grant tapped his comm badge. "Harris here go ahead."

[Sir. Come to the Bridge it's important]

"On my way" *Damn. It had better be important*

Five minutes later the commander was on the bridge. He saw Toran standing over Ops. "What is Mr. Toran ?"

"Sir I was running some sensor sweeps some four to eight light years in front of us and I've found something you should see Commander." Toran handed the First officer a PADD.

Grant read it and immediately realized it was important. Increased neutrino emissions cause by three Galor class starships and five Jem'Hadar cruisers. Grant's heart sank. He figured that it was a missing enemy fleet that didn't know that the war was over. "Ensign Ambrose. All stop . Yellow alert all decks! Captain to the Bridge."

[What is it Commander ?]

"Sir, I am sorry to disturb you, but we have a what seems to be a Dominion renegade fleet five light years in front of us."

[What ! ? Understood. I'm on my way, Commander. Prepare all sensor logs. I want to know everything by time I get there. Devore out.]

"Yes sir. Well Mr. Toran, You heard the man. Lieutenant Rashad. Please report the Bridge."
