Recollection

*** The Shadow *** rematerialized in the transporter room and stepped off the PADD. He smiled as he nodded to the chief and left the room. In his quarters, he unzipped his tunic and threw it on the bed as he sat down at the table and pulled out his 'computer'.

"Computer.. Initiate power reroute pattern 001 Theta 21. Authorization Officer 0012 Omega 113."

<Power rerouted. Primary and secondary communication lock out in effect. Please proceed.>

"Begin recording. Officer 001 stop. *USS Utopia* identified. Devore had had too many questions and boarded the ship looking for answers. However, I took care of the possibility of the *Utopia's* mission being compromised by destroying her. I had no choice.

"Devore hasn't begun to suspect anything...................."

On the Bridge, Lieutenant Rashad was sitting at her post talking to Ensign Ambrose, when Ensign Michaels reported to her a power fluctuation from the a secondary system. "Display power schematic to my station."

"Yes ma'am," Michaels acknowledged.

She noticed that the power had been redirected from the replicator system to communications. *What is this ?* She thought. "Computer identify the location of the power redistribution from matrix 008 echo."

<There is power redistribution noted.>

"I am looking at the power drain from the replicator system to ......" Then it hit her, this was a common ploy by operatives to establish a comlink to Starfleet Intelligence. By redirecting power from a redundant or subservient system, the computer would not identify or even log a communication record or transmission. "Forget it computer."

*Now where is the power going to?* She wondered as she recorded the information to a PADD for further analysis.

".............. and the I will not be ready to initiate the primary mission. On your orders of course." ***The Shadow*** said as he finished his message. "Okay computer, encode and transmit via subspace to officer 001."

<Processing.... Transfer of data is complete.>

"Good. Secure from communication blackout protocol."

<Systems secure. All systems are running a peak efficiency.>

*Now, time for a sonic shower,* ***The Shadow*** thought as he peeled off his uniform and headed for the bathroom.
