USS Leviathan : Crew Quarters : Shadow's Quarters

In the *** Shadow's *** room, he was sitting at his desk looking down in the ready room. His surveillance cameras were strategically hidden throughout the ready room, conference room, and even Devore's quarters. It was unethical and maybe even immoral, but morality was never a driving force in the elitist corp. of Section 31, *** Shadow *** has been Section 31's best operative. He has prided himself that in his six years of service, nothing has ever been suspected. Maybe some of his unfortunate victims realized who or even what he was, but it was too late.

The 'targets' were marked for death and it was **** Shadow's *** responsibility to carry it out, even if it lead to destroying Starfleet property and personnel. The Leviathan was not different whatsoever. Yes, she was the first ship of her class, Yes, she has a prototype engine and a rogue Captain, but Starfleet would just have to do without her or make a new one, because somehow, the Leviathan will not make it back to Earth.

[Yes I want you to investigate what happened and give the crew a report at 09:00 hours tomorrow morning.] Devore said. The camera was poised at the Captain who was speaking to his first officer.

*What meeting ? Report about what ?* *** Shadow *** thought.

[Sir ?]

[Yes Commander. I think that the senior staff should know what happened over there, but we need information. So why don't you prepare a briefing for us and give it at the meeting tomorrow. Is there a problem Mr. Harris ?]

*The *Utopia*! I went through a lot of trouble to initiate the self destruct sequence to hide the secret and now he is going to dig a little deeper. They are bound to find something. I have to stop them.*

[No sir not at all. I will just need to have access to all the information we have on it.]

[Fine. You have full access to the **** Shadow's *** findings and all information we have in the database.]

*My foot! I am not going to share anything with you !!!!*

[Thank you sir."]

*** Shadow *** started to panic. He had to stop that download somehow. So far everything was going according to plan, but in the database was many gigabytes of information stored in encrypted files that could be bypassed by any novice Intel officer. He knew that Harris was once in Intel, so *** Shadow *** has to stop him someway. He had got rid of Shaka at least temporarily. *** Shadow *** couldn't really do anything to her. For some reason, he liked her in all her moodiness, loss-of temper, even her temper in itself, was something that kept her on **** Shadow's *** good side. So by incapacitating her, she wouldn't be able discover what he was doing.

Down the corridor, *** Shadow *** ran. He had to do something. Finally he reached Harris' quarters and quickly looked both ways there was no one coming. Listening hard, he needed to determining if anyone was inside. He pulled out a SI tricorder and scanned the room whereby it was determined that Harris was gone. So *** Shadow *** started messing with keys careful not to leave too many fingerprints. Even though the DNA procedure in the transporter was to mask his movements, and overall interactions, too many suspicious 'markings' such as bodily fluids, fingerprints, hair follicles, and blood, would give away his most guarded secret... his identity.

The door came open and *** Shadow *** when in. He quickly looked around and saw a PADD that had just downloaded some information. Working quickly, the nimble fingers of the *** Shadow *** broke the simple code that Harris had put on it, and began to falsify the information, destroying very valuable pieces of information and even adding misleading information about the *Utopia*. This took about 20 minutes.

Harris came back into the room, which made *** Shadow *** move quickly So quick, that it amazed even himself. In the shadows, the *** Shadow *** became his namesake. He silently observed the first officer working and smiled how Harris accepted the information as truth. From his vantage point, *** Shadow *** watched Harris working hard when his door chimed. Harris headed for the door and opened it, where suddenly Ambrose burst in and showed him his PADD.

"Sir I need your approval on something I want to submit tomorrow at the staff meeting." Harris put his PADD down and grabbed the PADD as he told the Ensign to take a seat.

"Ensign what is it you want to submit ?" He said looking quickly through the PADD.

"Sir I've came up with a Scout Fighter Escort vessel to help us in case we run into trouble say like the Dominion again."

*Interesting young ensign.* *** Shadow *** thought as he hid in the corner.

"Sir I figure that It will take about four days working around the clock to build the frame and one week to place the hull on the frame. Once the chassis is built, it will take about two weeks to build the propulsion system and another week for the computer core. That of course entails programming and calibrations. The finally three days to install the weapons systems." Ambrose said excitedly.

Grant pressed a button and said after listening to the sales pitch. After a moment he rubbed his head and smiled. "Present it after my report."

"Yes sir." Ambrose said with a smile and left. As he did Ensign Nex snuck in just before the door closed and smiled at Harris. He smiled back. *At least I won't be spending the night alone.*

**** Shadow's *** eyes grew like saucers as he sat back and watched the festivities of the night. As soon as he fell asleep exhausted, *** Shadow *** silently crept out of the room.

"Whose there ?" Harris asked groggily as the doors of his quarters whispered shut.

"Shhhh... Come, go back to sleep." Nex said pulling Harris closer.
