The Cargo bay was now refitted to hold the Hellcat, the *Leviathan's* last line of defense. Kirk grabbed a PADD and started to look at the frame design and was getting excited to work on the starship that he designed. He was in the cargo bay looking over the pieces of metal when a few crewmen brought in several pieces of metal. This 'diamond in the rough' was going to be part of the ship's frame. Kirk grabbed a torch and got to work it. After about three hours, he had only about seven metres of frame put together. Slightly discouraged, Kirk took off his wielding mask and shut the torch off and slouched up against the nearest wall. For some reason his thoughts began to wander and focused in on his old girlfriend whom he missed. He didn't know why, they concentrated on her and after a while he shook it off and figured that there would be another girl,. but when was his constant question. Kirk looked at the aft frame section he just put together and knew he needed to find other crew members, because if not, it would take him a lot longer. He then felt his stomach rumble which reminded him he had to eat. His project made him lose track of time. "Computer what is the time ?" <19:56 hours > Kirk stood up and walked over to the mess hall where he saw Commander Harris sitting next to a female Trill eating and drinking. They were laughing as they talked. This began to make Ambrose think again of his old girlfriend. Being alone wasn't kind and seeing this didn't make it any better. His stomach rumbling again brought Kirk to reality and led him to the kitchen area where he saw the cook actually cooking. Being a kind and open spirit, Ambrose decided that he was willing to try some freshly cooked food. "I'll take what your preparing Mister." The cook handed a bowl of stew which Kirk took to a table across from Commander Harris. "Well Ensign how is the ship coming along ?" The commander said noticing the young ensign sitting near him. Taking a sip of the stew, Ambrose made a face of disgust at the taste of stew and pushed it a side. "It is getting under way but I need to figure out who to get to help me out, I think it'll take a while." Kirk figured he needed not to waste any time so he decided to return to work. "Excuse me Commander I must go, I've lots of work to do Sir in only a few weeks." Ambrose stood up and left the mess hall. As he headed toward cargo bay three, he changed his mind and headed to his quarters. |
