Dinner (Part One of Two)

Commander Harris was in his quarters getting ready for the dinner that Kar'Ok wanted. Harris was half-dressed, he had his red shirt on and was placing the gold pip on it when the comm link chimed.

[Commander, Chief Martin here.] The chief¹s voice called over the comm.

Harris was not looking forward to this event and hated the idea of having it at a time like this. Harris tapped his commbadge, "Harris here Chief,what is it you want ?"

[Sir are you sure our Klingon guest will like prime rib and steak ?] The chief asked uncertainly.

"Chief, just remember to have plenty of hot sauce on hand." Harris replied sarcastically. "See what you can get in the way of authentic Klingon food for them."

[Aye sir.] The chief replied as the link was broken.

Harris went back to getting dressed. He just slipped his tunic on when the door chimed.

*Damn it .* Harris thought. "Enter."

Lieutenant Rashad walked in and did not seem surprised that Commander Harris was not yet fully dressed.

"Sir, are you ready ?" Rashad asked.

"Yes, just grab those three bottles on the stand to your right." Harris said pointing at the bottles.

She picked them up and glanced at the two labels. They read "Picard Vineyard 2356" and "Jim Beam 2097".

Zipping his tunic, Harris turned his attention back to Rashad, "Come on Rashad."

The two stepped into the Mess Hall where most of the senior staff had already arrived. In addition to the Starfleet officers, there were twelve Klingons in the room.
