Taking names &...

Toran and Phanan entered the ship's security office with a new determination on their faces. It was time to take down names, to end the charade that was endangering the Leviathan.

"Toran to Bridge." He said tapping his commbadge.

[Go ahead sir.] The duty officer responded.

"Set course for the last known location of the Lynx, all possible speed." Toran ordered.

[Aye sir." The officer replied."But the Slipstream drive is not online yet.] The man replied.

"Then you bloody well better get Shaka up there to fix the damned thing." Toran responded angrily."Execute my orders."

[Yes sir.] The duty officer snapped back.

Toran could now turn his attention to Phanan."We're being played for fools Captain."

Phanan simply nodded.

Toran decided to continue."Harris delayed us for some reason, we should be out after the Captain, not sitting here dining with Klingons."

"I agree." Phanan replied simply.

"At least someone does." Toran said angrily, "I have to face the possibility that I may have to relieve Harris and Rashad of duty."

"Why Rashad ?" Phanan said somewhat intrigued.

"Harris and I were both suspicious of Rashad." Toran said."Now she's his closest adviser. Something is not right there. She's Intel, and Harris was at one time also in Intel."

"There is something else." Phanan said doubtfully.

*Damn, am I that obvious.* Toran thought. "You're right. Harris asked me what I knew about Section 31."

"Section 31 ?" Phanan asked. It seemed clear that Phanan knew very little of the organisation."I thought they were a myth."

"Oh no." Toran replied."They are quite real and quite dangerous. I've dealt with them. It is not an experience I care to repeat, and definitely not alone."

"So you think this Section 31 is involved ?" Phanan asked."That's a lot to prove."

"I've faced worse odds." Toran said."I need you to do something for me, something slightly illegal."

"You don't want Harris or Rashad to wake up for a while do you ?" Phanan asked.

"No." Toran replied."Do what you can to keep them sedated, but don't let Birchfield know until I can talk to him. He may be our new CMO, but I don't trust him yet. We still don't know everything about the Lynx's castaways."

Phanan simply nodded.

"Those Klingons are to be under 24 hour watch." Toran said."And I want a complete communications blackout. Until Harris wakes up, you are the second in command of the Leviathan. If I do relieve Harris, who you follow is your choice, but I think you might want to take a look at the evidence that I had you hide before you make your choice."

"What is there ?" Phanan asked.

"Nothing we can discuss here." Toran replied."Now, as to Section 31. I've gathered that the Klingons are involved in this more so than it may appear. Harris knows too much and someone wants him dead."

"You still don't know that for sure." Phanan said."But then again, if I had to know everything for sure, I'd be dead."
