Lieutenant Commander Sierra Devore
January 17, 2384
USS Hellcat : Devore's Temporary Quarters

Sierra had been released only if she stayed in her bed and recovered. Ensign Katts reminded Sierra that she would be checking to see if she was in her quarters or not and unspecified times. Sierra felt like a child and enjoyed the attention, but agreed. Marc helped Sierra settle in bed. She insisted that she would be okay sitting up. He reluctantly gave in and pulled the covers up to her waist. He leaned over and gave her a soft kiss on her lips. As he leaned back to look at her, he noticed a look in her eye.

"What's wrong ?" He asked

"Marc, nothing is wrong. But I do have something to tell you. I don't know how you are going to feel about it." Sierra said in a excited, but concerned tone.

"Just tell me, sweetheart." He said in confusion.

"Well, I don't know how to start. Well, remember when I told you that I found out I was pregnant after we had been separated ?" She started.

Marc nodded with wrinkled brow. "And how you went on long-term leave to have the baby so no one would know that you had a child, especially Beard ?" She nodded back.

"Remember how I told you that someone from Starfleet helped me and found a couple for the baby ?"

"Yes, Sierra, I remember all of that. I don't understand where this is going." He said almost in frustration.

"Well, Marc, I think I know who the couple was." She answered.

"What do you mean ?" He asked with surprised.

"I mean, I know where our son is." She stated.

"How did you ?. . .When did you ?. . .Where is ?. . ." Marc answered.

"Well, Marc, it was when I was in sickbay. I was. . ." She started.

"I don't understand ?" He interrupted, "In sickbay ? Did you figure it out when you were unconscious ?"

"Marc, let me talk and I will tell you !" She said excitedly. "I was talking to Ensign Katts. She told me that she ran some tests and that I had a mild concussion."

"I knew that." He said

"Yes, Marc, but remember, she ran tests on other people too." Sierra looked at him. "Marc, she has DNA records of all the crew from the Leviathan."

"Of course, Sierra. That is part of medical records." He said prying for more information and a little more frustrated..

"But Marc. She said that I would be fine, but we would have to wait to see how our son would do !" She said in excitement.

Marc sat there. Sierra looked at him. "Marc, Brayden has some of my DNA. If Ensign Katts checked yours, I know you would be the other match."

He continued to sit there looking at her. "Marc, Brayden is our son ! Say something !"

"Our son ?" He said, shocked to the core.

"Yes, our son. We must contact Admiral McCaffee as soon as possible. We must tell her what we found out." She said. "I think that it is best that Brayden knows, but we not until we discuss this with the Admiral first."

"Of course. It is going to be difficult you know. We don't know how she is going to react." He said turning away looking out a small porthole.

"I know. But she must know. We don't have a right to tell him until she knows. I mean we are his biological parents, but she has been his mother." She stated.

"As soon as we get to DS9, we will contact her." Marc said turning around, looking into Sierra's eyes.
