Getting Comfortable

The day's duties were over for Ensign Gordan. She and Lieutenant MacLeod had been busy running tests and battle simulation drills. She stepped into the turbolift and asked for Deck ten where the crew lounge was. She walked in and saw it wasn't too busy so she went over and ordered a cup of coffee. After her cup appeared, she walked over to a table that had a view of the Bajoran wormhole.

"Excuse me Ensign. Mind if I sit." A voice came from her left She turned and saw Chief Shale with a synth ale in his hand. She had been interested in speaking with the Chief since she came aboard to hear about his stories, however his age posed a question of credibility. He was rather young, only around 35 years old.

"Yes please. Take a seat, Chief."

Shale sat down and went on talking about the ship and his job training the Admiral's/Captain's son as if it those topics were the only things in the world that matter.

"Sir, this ship is a good one, biggest I've been on. How about you Ensign ?"

"Yes Chief this is the biggest ship I've been on so far. What did you do before this ship Chief ?"

"I was a flight instructor teaching boys and girls how to pilot ships and before that, I was a fighter jock. How about you ?"

"Well I was a boring science officer on the USS Darwin. I signed on for a little adventure, and going on three week surveys didn't hack it."

"Well maybe you will have a change of heart after this upcoming campaign."

"No I'm getting very comfortable on board the Leviathan-A."
