After Hours

MacLeod had been off his shift for over an hour, but had remained on the Bridge to continue to run some tests and get the Leviathan-A ready for the next day. After two hours he had finished his work and retired to his quarters. He went over to the replicator, ordered a cup off coffee, sat at his desk. He still wanted to do a little work.

"Computer. How many starships have explored the Beta Quadrant ?"

<Working. Task complete. Eighteen starships in the past two hundred Earth years.>

"Computer. How many Federation starships have explored the Beta Quadrant ?"

<Five Federation starships.>

"Computer. Download ships that were Federation that are now listed as missing in the Beta quadrant to my computer interface."

<Confirmed. Task complete.>

Mac flipped his computer screen on and started to read the information some of it very much was interesting.

"USS Hanley. Launch date 2294, lost contact the fourth of June 2295. One hundred and twenty crewmembers MIA, presumed dead."

The Hanley only explored thirteen light years of the Beta Quadrant Then Mac found something very interesting.

"What is this ?" Mac pressed a few buttons and then read it out loud.

"USS George Washington, Nebula Class starship. Six hundred and seventy three men and women. USS Navjo, Intrepid class starship. Two hundred and thirty crew. Launched in 2380 by then Commodore Beard, Washington was declared MIA sixty seven days after launch. Nine days later the Navjo was also reported MIA. What in the world is happening ?"

"Computer what was the last recorded entry of the USS Navjo ?"

<That information is classified please enter your security clearance code.>

"MacLeod Omega Delta-4."

<That is not a security clearance code.>

*What's going on. Maybe Beard has been plotting against the Federation for years. I've got to inform Captain Devore of this !*

Mac stood up and downloaded the information to his personal database and then used a Dominion encryption code. That he believed nobody would know or understand. Mac then went and got another cup of coffee and sat down at his desk and thought hard on what to do. He knew that he needed more information, so the Captain could actually use the information. MacLeod took a sip of his coffee and came to a conclusion. *I've got to find out more about the ships Navjo and George Washington. Captain crews and Beard's connection.*
