An Expected Meeting

Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Tyra walked down the corridor of the Leviathan The talk she had with the Captain was still in her mind. She hoped he bought the tomato juice story. It was bad enough that he knew what she was. She didn't want the rest of the crew to know and start to fear her.

Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks. A wave of electricity went through her when she passed a door to a crewmember's quarters. She had been having the feeling all day. Ever since she arrived at the space station. It was familiar, yet strange. It was if something was trying to tell her, alert her. Tyra stared at the door then as if in slow motion, reached out and hit the keypad.

"Come in." A voice said. "I've known you where there the whole time."

The door opened and Tyra stepped in. She then gasped when her eyes fell upon the cause of her sensations. He stood taller than her. It was a trait of the Castinetians. Another trait was their dark eyes that seemed to draw one in. She was taught at a young age about the Castinetians that they were the bearers of a hormone that her kind so desperately needed to survive. She was never told, though that they were so attractive.

"You're a Castinetian ?" Tyra asked, but she already knew. Her mother told her that she would know her mate before they even met.

The man nodded and stood up. He went over to her and stared into her eyes. He out his hands on her arms and smiled.

"My name is Teryek." He whispered to her. "I've felt you ever since I arrived here."

Tyra smiled, "So have I. I'm Tyra."

Today was definitely becoming an adventure.
