"Okay Captain. Everything is up to snuff." Chief Shale said running back to the Helm after pressing a few buttons at the engineering consoles. On the Bridge of the Hellcat, Ensign Gordon was effectively manning the Tactical station considering she scored below average on her tactical classes at the Academy. "Chief, What we do now ? We've taken down a dozen fighters, but it seems not to have made a difference." The Hellcat shook hard taking another blast from an enemy vessel. "All right remember that battlecruiser escort ship that we caused a fighter to crash into ? I think if we drag some fighters from behind us along the hull of the ship, the cruiser's batteries will hit them causing a little chaos and damage, of course by your command ?" Chief Shale said turning from his station to tactical. "Lets do it. Chief give me a bearing on that escort cruiser." "Aye, setting course 34 mark three." The Hellcat picked up four fighters along their path and fired three blasts that destroyed one fighter and disabling another. Their target, a Barien escort ship, was approximately the same size of a Galaxy class star ship, overshadowing the smaller ships. Its weapons fired hitting the Hellcat causing her to shake hard. "Shields at 76%, life support is failing. The ablative armour is beginning to buckle but holding. There are power spikes all along the shield grid. Chief, you need to show me a little more of that piloting crap because we can't take to much more of this." Gordon yelled above the explosions. "One more minute and we have this bastard," Shale said. The Hellcat was heading for the enemy ships shield generators pitching and yawing around phaser blasts. The enemy fighters didn't see the blasts and were hit by their own mother ship. As each were hit, they tumbled helplessly into the hull of the ship. "Fire." The Hellcat fired three torpedoes and all their phasers at the shield generator on the larger ship, causing a great explosion. In response the cruiser fired three blast hitting the Hellcat causing parts of the Bridge to explode. With that the small, but tough ship's shields fell to 19%. The blast caused Ensign Gordon to fall knocking her unconscious. A lone fighter tumbling out of control, clipped the Hellcat causing the shields to fail and the hard explosion that knocked Shale forward and out cold. The small ship now was lifeless in space. |
