A Hole

MacLeod kept his eyes on the situation at hand by watching the departmental reports on his station's computer screen.

"Lieutenant. Damage report." Captain Devore yield over a explosion.

"Sir. Shields at 65% percent and holding we've used over 50% of our torpedo compliment. Thirty-four crew members are injured and thirteen crew members missing or killed. Ablative armour holding." MacLeod yelled out loud.

Devore walked over to the helm station and watched over the helmsman carefully. "Ensign Grafton. Enemy status report." Devore asked in a perturbed but firm voice. Grafton was busy firing phasers at three enemy fighters and the Captain was running low on patience."Status report Mister Grafton any minute."

"Sorry but we've only been able to destroy one battleship, damage another and inflict about 43% damage to the enemy fighter squadrons." Devore ran over to the Ops station and tried to see where the Barien fleet was mainly formed.

"Sir, I see a hole. Basically a weakness in their defences." Mac said as he looked at another screen at his station.

"Where Mac are you talking about ?"

He pressed a few buttons and brought it on to the main viewer. Mac explained it as Devore and Grafton listened. "They're right flank is stretched thin with twenty-three fighters, roughly three squadrons and a battleship that has sustained 37% percent damage."

Devore knew this was a chance to break through their lines and a chance to save his stranded crew. "MacLeod break through the Barien jamming frequency, and tell the Ronin and the Jeorri to converge at those co-ordinates." Devore said giving a sort of grin as he sat down. Mac tried to get a message through but was unable to, the Bariens bounced it back to the Leviathan using a refractive pulse that changed frequency every three seconds.

"Captain I've got an idea. The Bariens know our comlink signals so they bounce them back to us using a refractive pulse. The pulse is coming from one ship, at bearing three two mark seven. The damaged battleship."

Devore turned and looked at Mac, "Outstanding."

"Cadet plot a course over the hull of that ship. I want to strafe that ship and if you can tell me where the Bridge and Engineering are that would be even better."

Grafton target at anything that resembles weapons or sensors.

Engineering, get full power back to shields and stand by for warp speed."

"Yes but not yet ?"
