Breaking Through

With the introduction of the Nuan fighters, the battle finally turned in favour of the Federation and it's allies. However there was still much to be done before victory could be called.

"Ensign, I need status report." Devore said turning back towards to the Tactical station.

"Sir, the fighters have been engaging the smaller ships allowing the fleet to engage the capital ships. There are only two left and it appears that the Barien fighters are trying to regroup around one of them. It might be the Barien flagship."

"Sir, I bet that that ship...." Began Lieutenant MacLeod. "...may possibly be it. That ship has been held in reserve the entire time and appears to be directing the enemy fighters ever since we destroyed the scrambler ship."

"MacLeod send a message to the fleet. Converge on the remaining two capital ships. Also send another message to the Nuans and have them redouble their attack and keep the Bariens off our backs."

"Aye sir."

The Leviathan went in followed by a the Jeorri and the a small contingent of the Nuans. She was heading towards the flagship, beginning to execute her plan, to rescue the remainder of the crew. But as she headed out, Grafton yelled.

"Captain. It looks like the fleet has done something. I am picking up large levels of gravimetric distortion which is interfering with long range sensors."

"On screen." Devore yelled

Off the bow, the Barien command ship decloaked. Obviously the ship was huge shadowing the fleet which looked like it was being annoyed by flies. However these flies continually bombarded the hull with phaser fire and photon and quantum torpedoes. The Bariens tried to "swat" at the Federation ships with numerous pulse phaser cannons which were all over the surface. Captain Devore saw that this ship was going to be a real difficult job, but in the spirit of the battle, it would be the most costly part. Many men and women, humans and Nuans were going to lose their life, but for the noblest of causes, freedom from Tyranny. Then MacLeod brought several messages of hope for an end to this battle.

"Sir, the Knight and the remainder of the fleet have arrived. The command ship is still relatively unaffected but the other capital ships have been taken out. But it cost the Nuans most of their fighters. However there are a small amount of the Barien fighters in the air."

"Good job !" Devore yelled out loud. He knew the tide was turning. "Mac, open channel to the Barien ship."

"Open sir."

"This Is Captain Devore of the United Federation of Planets. As you know the battle has turned in our favour Do you really want to continue this bloodshed ? I am giving your people a chance to surrender."
