A Terrible Discovery

Tyra left Engineering and headed toward Teryek's quarters. She was feeling light-headed and she knew then that she had to see him. She walked down the corridor and entered the turbolift. She called for Treyek's deck and leaned back against the wall as the lift carried her upward. She closed her eyes and thought about nothing else except getting food. She heard the lift doors open and she pushed herself away from the wall and toward Teryek's quarters.

Once there, she pushed the button that would announce her arrival. She waited and there was no answer. She pushed again as worry filled her.

*Did Teryek over sleep ? Was he at work ?*

No answer.

Tyra tapped her communicator and said, "Computer, what is the location of Lieutenant Teryek ?"

<Lieutenant Teyerk is in his quarters>

Tyra pushed the button again and called his name. Something was wrong she could feel it. When there was no answer, she asked the computer to unlock his door using her Engineering clearance. The door opened and she went inside.

"Teryek !" She called as she went through his quarters. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Teryek lying on his bed. She rushed to him and tried to wake him, to no avail. She checked for a pulse and found none.

"No !" Tyra shouted in despair. She fell to her knees and buried her head in the side of the bed. She cried for several minutes before she got a hold of herself and called for Security.

"Tyra to Security. Lieutenant Teryek's dead."
