It was 19:00 hours and Chief Shale had caught Captain Devore leaving the Bridge on Number one turbolift, as he stepped off the Auxiliary turbolift. Shale was going to be manning helm for his six hour shift. He took his seat at the Conn and started checking the data present, such as course, speed and any possible dangers out front. "Hey Chief, Engineering wants you to quit robbing spare parts for the Hellcat." A voice unfamiliar turned the Chief's attention away. "Sorry but I was told to fix the Hellcat." He said turning to see Lieutenant Dakul. "Yes but I keep getting complaints." Dakul said again "All right I'll ask next time." *Damn hope that shuts him up.* "Okay Chief thanks." A few minutes later Commander Soliel came up behind Shale to look over the helm station. "Boy that's a lot of flight controls." The XO commented. "Yes it is a lot of controls sir. However it's 85% automated, unlike when you served on your first ship. These ships today pilot themselves pretty much. Only thing is with the slipstream you always need to scan for anything and always need to make course corrections. Here sir take a seat and try it out." Shale stood up and offered his seat to the Commander. He gave Shale a puzzled look. "Sorry but I would not feel right." "Okay Commander but you don't know what your missing." Shale went and sat back down at the Conn. Then Lieutenant Gordon caught Soliel's attention. "Sir receiving a message from the Ronin." |
