The twenty-one rebel Jem'Hadar and the three Federation officers, broke into their respected squads. Some three kilometres from the other more loyal Jem'Hadar. They were loyal only to the third who stood by his Vorta. The march had seemed to have gone as planned, it was 04:21 hours and in about twenty-four minutes the first attack would come. Before the four squads broke up and headed towards their target. Jake walked up to Shale. "Don't worry. Once the shooting starts, you won't think of nothing but staying alive." Grafton said to Chief Shale. Jake was worried about him, and with good reason. The Chief was a fighter jock, not an infantryman. Rick shook his head and then took a deep breath and gave the tactical officer a look of comfort. "I know what must be done." Chief Shale said patting the Lieutenant on the shoulder. Grafton's party had reached their position at exactly 04:56, to the rear of the ship. Fire was heard from the left flank, as Grafton had planned it. He then heard fire come from the right flank as planned. "Okay men we must wait here. I know you want to fight, but if we achieve victory, it will be done according to plan." The Jem'Hadar ducked down behind a ridge and waited patiently and kept hoping the time would pass quicker. Jake thought of his family, and hoped he would see his children again before they were not kids anymore. "Sir, I see fifteen Jem'Hadar coming around to flank the left flank." A Jem'Hadar said pointing with his index finger. "All right fire on my command." Grafton stood up and then dropped to one knee and drew his sight on a Jem'Hadar talking over the plan of flanking with his second in command. Then Jake squeezed the trigger and blue bolt fired from the rifle hitting the Jem'Hadar in the head. The Jem'Hadar lead by Jake began to fire and scream aloud. Jake did as well firing and hitting three Jem'Hadar. Jem'Hadar from the Enemy base camp numbering fifteen charged towards Lieutenant Grafton's position. He saw it was a typical suicide mass charge. One he didn't understand, but knew it was a foolhardy charge, and wanted to exploit it. "Hold your ground, fire at will !!!" The fifteen oncoming Jem'Hadar were cut down to none and Jake knew now was the time to be a leader. "Come on lets route these bastards." Jake said in a massive eruption of emotion and anger, something he hadn't felt in years. |
