Random Interaction

The wedding reception had wound itself down to almost nothing and M'eko was walking back to her quarters. It still felt odd to take in what had happened. Being the XO of a ship of the line on her fifth assignment was going to feel heavy for a month or so. Plus she needed to know all the crew members on the ship. A much more daunting task than on a New Orleans Class ship, a ship with less than half the number of crew onboard the Leviathan-B. She could get used to it.

Now she had to start the crew on a rotation system. It was her responsibility to co-ordinate training throughout the ship, and also her duty to be the go-between from the crew to Captain. She could handle that. But for now, she would go and do her first rounds as executive officer. After all, it was on the duty roster. While she was walking down deck four and after a few crewmen had congratulated her, she ran into Lieutenant Loh. He was coming down from his quarters to the turbolift. He needed to make sure the Tactical systems were at full capacity.

"Oh, excuse me Commander. I didn't see you around that corner." He said a bit embarrassed.

"That's all right." She said, pausing for a minute "Lieutenant Loh is it ?. I did not see you at the gathering we just had in the lounge." M'eko asked with a quick look up and down the Lieutenant.

"Yes. That's me.. How did you know ?" He asked. He had not had a lot of time to meet Taurus crewmembers since they arrived. The weapons on the Leviathan had kept him thoroughly riveted to the data on them. M'eko extended her hand to shake his. "I'm Lieutenant Commander J'ross, the new first officer. I'd like to see what our weapons could do later. I am sure there are a lot of updates in a ship this new.

"Yeah. They are impressive. I don't know how much I can really show you though. No offence, but it's pretty involved." He replied. He seemed to be a bit defensive of their weapons system, but knew that if she wanted access, she would get it.

"Well, seeing as I have been a Starfleet Engineer for eighteen years before my posting in the Taurus two months ago, I think I'll be all right." M'eko said with a grin.

"Oh... Ok then. Come by whenever you need to check it out." Loh said and continued on. At least she would get what he was talking about when he described their weapons capacity and workings.
