Another Threat

As Lieutenant James Wright left the room and the doors closed, the door chimes rang once more. Aki opened the doors to find a very shocked Lieutenant Moss standing at the door.

"Is something wrong ?" Aki enquired. No one needed to be empathic to know that the half-Vulcan was suffering from some kind of emotional episode. Stefen wasn't a typical half-Vulcan, he'd been brought up single-handed by his human mother.

"Captain, I need to talk to you ?" He announced, stepping inside the office. That's when he noticed Commander Rashadl and Lieutenant Commander J'ross sat down. "Commander Rashad, I'm glad you're here."

"Sit down Lieutenant and tell us what is wrong." Aki suggested.

Stefen sat down and closed his eyes to meditate and regain his composure. Taking several deep breaths, he finally became calm once more.

"I've just received a message from Starfleet Intelligence." Stefen announced. "From Commodore West, but he was interrupted and I think captured by enemy agents."

"Enemy agents, Who ?" Aki asked.

Stefen decided it would be better to show the three officers than explain what had happened. After they had all watched the replay of Stefen's message, they were quiet for a while.

"Commander, have you heard of this Omega group ?" Aki asked.

"No, it's new to me." Rashad replied. "Although I have heard of Klang."

"I think we need you to give the Lieutenant the same treatment you're offering Lieutenant Wright." Aki suggested.

"Lieutenant, we'd like permission to install covert camera's in your quarters and post a twenty four hour watch on both yours and Private Wests' movements."

"Jess !" Stefen exclaimed suddely. "I left her on DS9, what if Klang's agent has got to her ?"

"I'll get Lieutenant McQueen to send for her and have them escort her to the ship." Aki stated.
Stefen looked puzzled. "Bring her here !. Shouldn't she be on her assigned vessel."

Aki smiled.

"She didn't tell you, she's been assigned to the Leviathan. The orders came through just after the wedding started. I believe Colonel Phanan informed her last night."

Stefen gave a sigh of relief, at least they would be together in all of this.

"Don't worry." Aki stated. "We'll find who's threatening both you and Lieutenant Wright."

"Lieutenant Wright ?" Stefen asked. "Someone's after him as well."

"He received an anonymous death threat this morning." Aki stated. "That's why we're taking the threats to all three of you seriously. At least in your case, we know who's after you."

"But not who Klang's sent." Stefen stated.

"I'll have McQueen check all the new arrivals and cross-check their backgrounds." Aki stated.

"I'll see if there's anything in the Intel database." Commander Rashad suggested.

"Thank you Captain, Commander." Stefen said. "I'll feel a lot happier once the surveillance is in place."

Stefen rose from his seat and headed for the door.

"Do you think these two threats are connected ?" J'ross suggested. "It seems strange that two out of three of our Intelligence officers have been threatened, especially on the same day."

"I wouldn't rule it out." Rashad suggested.

Just the Lieutenant McQueen arrived, passing Lieutenant Moss on his way out.
