Putting All The Pieces Together

Captain Taybar stepped into the main briefing room and looked around the room. All the senior staff was there seated in their usual chairs apart from Commander Rashad. The seat to Aki's right was empty, as was the seat next to that. Lieutenant Commander J'ross was sat to the Captain's left, acting out her role as second officer.

The briefing was also joined by the ships' new councillor, Anastasia Natalie Yoieya (Pronounced Yoy-ee-ah) So far the young Betazoid had not been very active onboard, mainly due to the fact that she had only just arrived before the Leviathan departed from DS9. She was still settling in onboard ship, but she had an excellent service record and was a welcome addition to the crew.

Finally Commander Rashad and Lieutenant Moss arrived and took the two vacant seats to the right and nodded at the Captain.

"Now that we are all here, I think we should start." Aki said firmly. "Lieutenant McQueen, I think we should start with you. How are our guests ?"

"Captain, all the Jem'Hadar that have arrived have been checked over by Lieutenant Kahfre and have been confirmed to be from the same batch as Goran'Agar." Logan reported. "They are all currently resident in cargo bay six and appear to be quite subdued. From the reports I've got from the Security teams guarding them, many appear to have been on the run for sometime. Goran and his officers are also now in cargo bay six."

"Good." Aki commented. "Let's hope that they remain calm. What about the prisoners ?"

"They're in the main Brig." Logan stated. "They're pretty beat up and demoralised. The Doctor has checked them all over and apart from the effects of withdrawal from 'White' they are OK. "

"Captain……" Lieutenant Kahfre announced. "………I'd like permission to release some of the 'White' that was taken off the Taurus and administer it to the prisoners."

Logan looked across at Rahel.

"Is that wise ?" Captain Taybar enquired.

"I'm intending to dilute the solution by fifty percent." Rahel replied. "It should keep them alive and relieve the symptoms of withdrawal, but not remove them completely."

"Why should we help them ?" Logan argued. From his tone of voice and Rahel's non-verbal response, this argument was one the two of them had been having for sometime.

"I have a due of care to everyone on the ship, including those in the Brig." Rahel replied. "I would be failing in my duties if I allowed anyone onboard this ship to suffer unnecessary."

"Permission granted." Aki stated. "But I'd like you to keep an eye on their recovery, just incase they appear to be gathering strength. Lieutenant McQueen, what about the Jem'Hadar on the transports ?"

"We've got Security teams on both transports, along with a few of Colonel Phanan's Marines." Logan reported.

"We're going to check those Jem'Hadar as soon as possible." Rahel added.

"Well that's our Jem'Hadar problem in order, so what's next." Aki said. "Commander Rashad, Lieutenant Moss, how are things going with Omega and the search for Private West."

Before the Commander could say anything Stefen walked over to the computer in the room.

"Captain what I have to show must remain in the room."

Stefen took the lancer out of his side and threw it on the table.

"T'Val left this for me, he called it a Lancer. He made it tie to my DNA so no one else can use it expect me. If they did, it would send an electrical charge through the user, knocking them unconscious."

"How can you trust him ?" McQueen asked.

"I can trust him because of this..." Stefen said as a starchart appeared on the screen. " What you see before you is the location of every Omega base in the Gamma quadrant. Which is something that neither the Intelligence staff on this vessel or Section 31 has so far been able to obtain."

Stefen re-took his seat beside Commander Rashad and picking up his lancer, placing it back into it's holster.

"Captain, I'm also wearing an advanced form of armour that they use. I'd like to offer our Engineering staff the chance to examine both the armour and the Lance. Maybe they could reproduce them and issue it to the Security and Marines staff."

"I'd certainly like to see what this lance can do ?" Logan suggested.

Commander Rashad was the next to speak.

"Section 31 did however provide us with some additional information on Omega." She announced. "But we haven't had enough time to process all the data."

"When will you have the results ?" Aki asked.

"Uncertain." Stefen chipped in. "It could be within a few hours, it could be days.""

Just then Captain Taybar's comm badge beeped and she tapped it once.

"What is it ?" She asked, sounding annoyed.

[Captain Taybar.] A voice suddenly announced over the ship intercom. [Long range sensors have picked up a vessel heading our way.]
