Separation (Saucer)

The crew manning the Main Bridge watched at the Captain gave the orders to the Hellcat and the two Jem'Hadar transports. Not all of them were happy at being assigned to an escort duty. The majority of the non-essential crew had moved to the Saucer section and the Bridge was being manned mainly by Junior officers.

Lieutenant Commander J'ross was sat at the helm controls, watching the viewscreen and the four-way conversation.

"The auxiliary warp core is online and we are operating at full independent power." An Ensign announced from the Engineering station. "We're ready for separation."

[Everything is ready. Commander Rashad, you have permission to launch.] The Captain ordered on the viewscreen. [Greta'n, Jerzak (The two Jem'Hadar Captains) you will follow the saucer section as soon as it separates from the main hull and head to Bopak III. We'll cover your escape and follow as soon as we can.]

"The Hellcat had launched Commander." A second Ensign announced from the Ops station.

[J'ross, are you ready ?] The Captain asked.

Quickly M'eko checked over the helm console one last time. "Affirmative." She announced.

[Prepare for separation.] They all heard the Captain ordered. [Close all channels and sound the alarm. Put the saucer section on the main screen.]

The viewscreen went black once more as the link between the two sections was closed.

"Put the Engineering section on screen." M'eko requested. "Prepare for separation."

"Primary power links disengaged." The Ensign at the Ops station announced. "Secondary power links disengaged. Securing all connecting bulkheads."

"Preparing to release docking clamps." M'eko stated from the Helm.

"All connecting bulkheads are secure." The Ops officer announced. "Docking clamps can be released."

There was a slight jolt onboard as the docking clamps that kept the two section of the Leviathan as one where released.

"Initiating primary thruster burst in ten seconds." M'eko announced.

The Bridge rocked once more as the primary thrusters pushed the saucer section away from the main section. On the viewscreen the Bridge crew were able to see the various connections between the two vessels clearly, watching as the blast doors closed over them. They all knew that the same thing was happening to the connections on their side of the ship as well.

"Prepare to deploy impulse engines." M'eko announced. "Contact the Jem'Hadar transports and tell them to follow us at full impulse. Once were away from the system, we'll jump to warp."

The saucer's impulse engines rose up from the upper surface of the saucer section and locked into place.

"Impulse engines are deployed." The Ops officer announced. "The Engineering section is breaking orbit and heading for an intercept with the approaching vessel."

"Engaging at full impulse." M'eko announced.

"Commander, one of the transports is reporting a problem with their warp drive." The Ops officer announced. "They're reporting a fault which will restrict them to warp three."

"Bridge to Engineering." M'eko stated, tapping her comm badge. "I need an engineering team to go over to one of the transports and assist in repairs to their warp drive."

[Engineering.] A voice replied. {The team is on its way to transporter room one.]

"Inform me when they're onboard the Jem'Hadar vessel." J'ross ordered. "Open a channel to both transports."

The viewscreen changed to show the two Jem'Hadar Captains.

"Greta'n, Jerzak. We'll head out of the system at maximum impulse." J'ross announced. "Greta'n, I've got an Engineering team heading over to you to assist with the repairs to your warp drive. As soon as they're onboard and we're out of the system, I want to jump to warp three and head for Bopak III. At warp three we won't reach our destination for seven days, so getting the drive working is important."

[Understood Commander.] The large Jem'Hadar replied. [Your team has just arrived and my officers will give them all the assistance they need.]

"Good." J'ross said. "Prepare to leave the system and jump to warp."
