Waiting For Transportation

It was early morning and Captain Taybar was still on the Battle Bridge awaiting the arrival of the transportation that would arrive very soon. Once that arrived, they could leave this base and head off to Bopak III and re-join the rest of the ship. Aki was still worried about Commander Rashad, but she had regained consciousness about an hour ago and the EMH and Private Dyson, the Marine Medic had both reported that the treatment was working to a certain extent. Just then the doors opened and Commander Rashad walked onto the Bridge, still looking a little pale (For someone who was half Romulan, half Bajorian).

"Commander, Shouldn't you be in Sickbay ?" The Captain asked.

"I'm fine." The Commander replied. "But I couldn't stand that Hologram any longer, buzzing around me, checking up on me every five minutes. So I made a deal with him, I could leave and he wouldn't suddenly find himself re-programmed."

"You threatened the EMH ?" Aki stated.

"No." Rashad said with an uncharacteristic smile. "I had to agreed to this."

Rashad pulled the collar of her uniform down and showed the Captain the monitoring device that was attached to her neck.

"Long-range sensors are picking up three vessel on fast approach." The Ops officer announced.

"ETA ?" Aki enquired.

"Fifteen minutes." The Ops officer replied.

"Can you identify them ?" Aki asked.

"They would appear to be a Sovereign class and two Defiant class vessels." The Ops officer reported.

"Inform Commodore West that we have three vessel on approach." Aki stated. "Commander go to Yellow alert, just in case."

"Raise shields, power all weapons systems." Rashad ordered. "Yellow alert."

Fifteen minutes later, the USS Oklahoma and its two escorts, the USS Victory and USS Vengeance were in orbit alongside the USS Leviathan-B. Within an hour, all the prisoners had been transferred over to the Oklahoma and the assault teams were transferring their heavy equipment back on shuttles.

Two hours after their arrival, the three vessels left the mining base, closely followed by the Leviathan. As they left the system, there was a huge explosion as the planetoid where the mining base had once stood was obliterated by a massive series of explosions.

"Helm, set a course for Bopak III." Aki ordered. "Prepare to enter the Slipstream."

"Speed ?" Lieutenant Barker enquired.

"Maximum speed." Aki replied.

"Entering the stream in five… four….three…two…one." Lily counted down.

Ahead of the Leviathan, the slipstream vortex formed pulling the vessel inside and on course for Bopak III.

"We are in the stream." Lily announced. "Travelling at T-Warp thirteen point four. ETA at Bopak III, six two hours."

Aki sat back in the command chair and gave a shallow sigh. They were finally on their way back to re-join the Saucer section. She just hoped that their journey would have been less eventful than the Engineering section.
