As Samuel stepped into the Security office, the emergency channel opened. [USS Leviathan, this is Private Jessica West-Moss, I need Security to my location now.] “Roger that.” The Security officer behind the desk replied. [We'll hold out till Security gets here.] Jessica stated. [Or at least we'll try.] “See if you can get a transporter lock on them.” Typho suggested. The young Ensign looked up at the new arrival, he hadn't noticed the Major's arrival. Typho noticed the blank look on the Ensigns face. “I'm Major Samuel Typho….” Samuel stated. “…..I'm the new Command Marine onboard. Now see if you can get them out of there.” The Ensign passed his hands over the console, but looked frustrated at the lack of results. “Looks like some sort of dispersion field has been activated.” The Ensign stated. “I can't get a lock.” “How long will it take you to get a Security team together ?” Typho enquired. “I can probably get a small team ready in about five minutes.” “We can probably get a Security team prepared in about the same time.” The Ensign replied. “Then we'll send both teams down.” Typho stated. “If I'm correct, isn't Private Moss-West a Marine ?” “Yes Major.” The Ensign replied. “I'll have a Security team ready in transporter room two.” “I'll have my team ready in transporter room three.” Typho stated. “We'll co-ordinate a two-pronged attack.” “Understood.” The Ensign stated, tapping a button on the console. “All Security personnel report to transporter room two immediately.” Typho tapped his comm. badge. “This is Major Typho, all on-duty Marines are to report to transporter room three, urban assault gear.” Typho ordered. “I'll see you in five Ensign.” Starfleet Compound : Home of the West's The assault on the home of the West's was not going to plan. The assault team had not anticipated the amount of force they would expect, it should have been a straight in and out mission, grab the Marine and get out. The hologram had made life harder, their “employer” had not told them that they would be facing a hologram, but the team were working on it. They also hadn't expected the West's to have any heavy weapons in the house, after all it was their home. The phaser fire had been raging for a couple of minutes and neither side had made much progress, but things were about to change. [Sir, we're ready.] A voice said in the leader's earpiece. “Do it.” The leader of the assault team replied. Inside, T'Val and Commodore West were standing by the window, talking pot-shots at the assault team as soon as their heads popped up. It had kept them at bay for the moment, but T'Val had detected the assault team spreading out, surrounding them. Eventually they knew that they would be surrounded. Jessica and Sara were standing by another window, on the first floor also trying to keep the assault team at bay. “Commodore, we can't hold out much longer.” T'Val stated. “How long ?” The Commodore enquired, but he never got an answer. T'Val's lance dropped to the floor as T'Val disappeared. “They've cut the holo-net feed.” The Commodore stated. “T'Val's gone.” “Throw me his lance Dad.” Jessica shouted back. The Commodore reached down and picked up the lance, throwing it up towards his daughter. Jessica caught the lance and pushed a button on the end. Standing up, she hurled the lance out of the window towards the assault team. Seconds later, there was a small explosion as the lance self-destructed, blowing several bodies back across the compound. “There's too many of them.” Sara announced, continuing to fire at the assault team. “It looks like out little stunt has forced their hand, they're forcing forward.” USS Leviathan-B : Transporter room Three Major Typho stepped into the transporter room to find seven Marines, dressed in light combat gear waiting for him. As he looked at the team, one of the Marines passed him a set of combat gear and a heavy phaser rifle, which he quickly put on. “Thank you…..” Typho stated. “…..Private Jax Sir.” Garet Jax replied. “OK Marines, we have a situation.” Typho stated. “Private Moss-West is under attack in her own home. Now as Marines it is our duty to ensure that we get her back safely, she is one of us. However, I want to take as few casualties as possible and secure the assault team. Now on that pad and let's go.” “Yes Sir.” The Marines stated in unison. “Five of the Marines stepped onto the pad and disappeared. Typho and the other two soon followed. As he stood on the pad, Typho tapped his comm. badge. “Typho to transporter room two, we're in the drop zone.” Starfleet Compound Suddenly there was the sound of heavy phaser fire in the compound. Jessica looked out of the window to see a small group attacking the assault team from behind. Just then there was a small explosion some way off to the left of the compound as the dispersion field generator was destroyed. Moments later, she realised that there was now even more phaser fire, this time coming from the roof of the building and within two minutes, the assault team lay either dead on the floor of the compound, or were captives of the Marines. Stepping out into the compound, the three West's looked up onto the roof of their home to see at least six Starfleet uniforms, all shouldering phaser rifles. As Jessica continued to walk towards the Marines, she looked at the faces of the dead on the ground. Suddenly, they all disappeared, transported away, she looked across at the prisoners, but they too had already gone. “Someone's being very though.” Commodore West stated. Major Typho came forward to address the West's. “Commodore West, Commander West, Private Moss-West.” He stated. “Major Samuel Typho, Command Marine of the USS Leviathan-B.” “Thank you Major.” The Commodore stated. “We were just about done for until you arrived.” “Just doing my job sir.” Typho replied. “Now I think we should get Private Moss-West back to the Leviathan, it would appear that she is not safe here.” “I agree.” Sara West stated. “Jessica, you'll be safest on the ship.” “What about T'Val ?” Jessica enquired. “We'll have his programme transferred back to the ship in no time.” Her father stated. “Until then, it looks like you will have more than enough protection.” Jessica hugged her mother and then her dad before she said her goodbyes and transported back to ship. Until T'Val could be brought back online, Major Typho stood guard over Jessica and for once she felt safe. |
