Ambassadorial Arrival |

It was now early evening and Captain Taybar was onboard the Starbase standing alongside Captain Kitara Mallory. Both were in their dress uniforms, along with a security detail and the Federation Ambassador t’Plek. With all the excitement of the past couple of hours, this was a welcome break from the chaos onboard ship. All were awaiting the arrival of the Axeline ambassador, whose vessel had come into the New Canada system an hour earlier. The vessel had declined to dock in the space dock, but instead moved into an orbit around Serenity. Instead the Ambassador was coming across to the station via shuttle and Captain Mallory had sent the Starbase’s elite squadron, the Banshee’s to fly as escort. Suddenly Captain Mallory’s comm badge beeped and she tapped it once. [Operations to Captain Mallory.] A voice announced. “Mallory here.” Kitara responded. [Just to let you know that the Axeline ambassador’s vessel has just passed through the space doors and the Banshee’s are returning to their docking hanger.] The operations officer reported. [Their shuttle should be arriving at your location in about two minutes.] “Thank you operations.” The Captain stated. “Mallory out.” Moments later, the airlock opened and two helmeted figures stepped into the connecting corridor. Both stood at around six feet tall and walked very slowly and precisely in time with each other. With their red cloaks covering their bodies to the floor and their faces hidden behind helmets, they gave an imposing presence. They reached the end of the short corridor which linked the airlock to the station itself and looked around cautiously. Taking up positions either side of the doorway, they stood to attention. As the Starfleet officers watched and waited, a third hooded figure stepped into the corridor and looking slightly nervous walked forward towards the waiting Federation officers. Reaching the end of the corridor and the awaiting honour guard, the hooded figure raised their hands and pulled back the hood which had hidden their face from view. “My gratitude to the Federation is assured.” The young female alien announced. “My name is Ambassador Ur’eka of the Axeline Imperium.” The ambassador was a young woman, looking around thirty. Her skin was a golden colour and she had reddish hair which was braided into dreadlocks. Standing at around five and a half feet, the ambassador did not have the same imposing presence as the two guards now stood either side of her, but somehow everyone felt that they were in the presence of someone great. As the two Captain’s glanced around at the males on duty, they noticed that the ambassador appeared to be having a very odd effect on them. Captain Mallory stepped forward and stood to attention before speaking. “Ambassador Ur’eka.” She announced. “The Federation and the crew of Starbase 901 welcome you to the New Canada system. May I introduce Captain Aki Taybar of the USS Leviathan-B and Federation Ambassador t’Plek.” Aki stepped forward and nodded her acknowledgement. Ambassador t’Plek was a little more reserved. “Captain Taybar, Ambassador t’Plek.” Ambassador Ur’eka replied. “I look forward to a tour of both this impressive station and the Leviathan.” “Unfortunately, there have been some developments on the station and the Leviathan.” Captain Mallory reported. “A tour of the station will not at the current time be possible for Security reasons.” “Is there any danger ?” The Ambassador enquired. “The Leviathan has been secured and the security detail around the ship has also been increased.” Captain Taybar continued. “Hopefully a tour of the ship will be possible, but I am sure you are eager to start the initial talks with Ambassador t’Plek. We have prepared the briefing room for informal talks and there will be a formal dinner in three hours in honour of your visit.” “Thank you Captain Taybar.” Ambassador Ur’eka replied. “Shall we proceed ?” “If you would follow me.” Aki suggested. The security detail moved back and created a line, through which Captain Mallory and Taybar escorted the Axeline and Federation Ambassadors through. The two helmeted guards followed closely behind the ambassadors and the security detail followed on behind. |
