James "Phantom" Archer

Standing at six foot. James is a very well-built man.

James Archer was born around mid-August 2361, most likely on Rigel 4 where he was found abandoned and placed into an orphanage. The only thing he knew for sure was his name, James Archer, because it was engraved on a 'dog-tag' around his neck. Although the authorities searched for his parents for sometime, none were ever found and James lived his life in the orphanage, where he studied hard and excelled in zeno studies and Martial Arts. As he grew older, his Martial arts training grew with him and he became a top Martial expert whilst still in the orphanage.

It was whilst James was boxing in a televised match at the age of fourteen, that an off-duty Marine who had been watching in the stands came to his dressing room after the bout, to offer his congratulations on the young boys win. James offered the man a seat and a drink, sensing that there was something about him that was familiar. After some polite, but dull conversation, the man finally asked James his name.

When James told him that his name was Archer and that he had been abandoned as a small child, the man looked shocked. After a very long pause in the conversation, the man came out with a revelation which was to change James life, that he was most likely this man's son.

After the shock had worn off, the Marine Andrew Archer began to explain the circumstances of James birth. Andrew had only learnt a few years earlier that he even had a son, after receiving a letter from a former lover. Since then he had searched for his son, but after hitting several dead ends had given up on ever finding him.

Andrew started to make arrangements to take custody of his son and after three months of investigation, James took his first trip into space, where he joined his father on the USS Yamamoto. He learnt a great deal from his father, a Marine First Lieutenant and his skills improved and developed. As well as continuing with his martial arts studies, he also continued to be schooled onbaord the vessel and got to see many strange and wonderful worlds.

When James was eighteen, he left his father and the Yamamoto behind and headed for Mars, where he joined the Federation Marines in the hope of following in his father's footsteps. After spending a year at boot camp and another year posted to Starbase 82, James returned to Mars where he undertook several specialist course including Infiltration of enemy territory, search and rescue and advanced combat. He was then re-asigned to the USS Tomahawk, a modified Intrepid II class vessel, specially equpped for search and recovery of Federation personnel in enemy territory.

A year later, he was injured during a mission into Mullian territory and found himself back on Earth. Six months of intensive medical treatment and recuperation finally over, he was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and found himself posted to the USS Levitathan-B as part of 201st Expeditionary Force, 8th Battalion, Foxtrot Company under the command of Lieutenat Colonle Jon Phanan.
