Andree Dothan

Dothan is well muscled having grown up on a planet with a 1.2G gravity. He has light skin, but not to the point of being pale and he wears his hair in a flattop style. Having grown up on a slightly above-average gravity planet, his strength is slightly higher than his build would suggest. Though not evolved on a heavy gravity world nor having been exposed to the heavy gravity's all of his life, the increased gravity has allowed him to grow a nice set of muscles starting early in life. He maintains that physique actively and works to balance endurance with strength.

Born in 2348, on the Trillius VI Mining colony, a planet with a slightly stronger gravity, (about 1.2 G's) His father worked in the mine and his mother in the business office of the mining company. From a very young age, Andree was a tinker and would do his best to take objects and equipment apart so he could see how it worked. By the time he was in school his parents had set up several holo-suite programs to allow him to take things apart without having to worry about putting them back together in a controlled environment. As a small child he spent hours each day both in simulations and in his room working on more and more complex equipment outside of school. As the years went by his obvious enjoyment of all things technical became apparent.

Entering school at age four, in 2352, he went on to complete primary school at age 13, his birthday being during the summer break and applied to enter the Trill Symbiosis Training School at 14. Graduating six years later at age 20, he applied to enter Starfleet Academy. Two years into the Academy he married his current mate, a human named Kenneth Martin. They had met during his first year as a cadet and had quickly fallen in love, becoming closer and more attached as the years went by. Kenneth and Andree proposed to one another on the same evening, at the same time- each trying to set the other up and have a romantic evening in the process. It’s an evening they still giggle about when it’s brought up. Kenneth is a Musician and Xeno-musicologist, studying cultural and societal development of music in various cultures and societies across the Federation and beyond. It is their similar love of music that helps bind them together.

Four years after entering Starfleet Academy and preparing to graduate from the Engineering Program, he was matched with a symbiont. The symbiont committee had, of course, followed Andree’s records in the Academy and following the wishes of the symbiont, had found a younger and brighter host in a Starfleet technical position. Once Joined, a year of adaptation to the new relationship was required for Dothan and Andree as they got used to one another and integrated their personalities and memories. Dothan, having had a more active role in the choice of the host, has more aggressive traits than Andree originally displayed. This had caused some strain in the relationship between Andree and his mate Kenneth, but eventually they were able to get through it and mend their relationship. Dothan’s previous host Nal, the Artist, used music in a great many of his pieces and so his exotic tastes in music have enriched Andree and Kenneth’s relationship.

Ensign Andree Dothan rescued the First Officer of this vessel, Commander Krell. Commander Krell was on shore leave and was kidnapped by an unnamed assailant whose name has been withheld from casual record.

Andree is an intelligent and gentle person with a loving heart and a sensitive nature.

Dothan, the symbiont, was more involved in the choice of the next host that most other symbiont were, there being a movement amongst the symbiont on Trill about who they were to be assigned to. Dothan’s previous two hosts were a holo-artist of some fame and a medical doctor. The memories and personalities of both of these people influence Andree’s behaviour though a great deal of the distinctiveness of his original identity and personality are still present. Despite the addition of the memories and distinct personality overtones of the two other people Andree now holds, he has remained nearly the same. It has affected his relationship with his partner; though a rocky time for them they were able to adapt and fall in love all over again.

While not an introverted personality, both Andree and the Dothan complex make for a less casual man who has very few close friends and a great many pleasant acquaintances. His inquisitive nature and desire to tinker with equipment has led him into many good situations with others with similar interests in engineering fields.

He is very protective of Kenneth and loving and loyal mate. They try to spend as much time together, when duties permit as this is a reflection of Andree’s devotion and loyalty as well as genuine love for his partner. And even though they have been in a relationship for several years before their legal marriage age, they still remain as much in love as before.

In summary, Andree can be said to have integrated fairly well with the Dothan symbiont and has become fairly well-rounded. He is perhaps a little over protective of his mate, who jovially circumvents him when necessary, playing the devil’s advocate. As an officer he shows promise and perhaps can be recommended for advanced officer training in a few years, command school or in-training command instruction and coaching may be a better process considering the trouble of relocation and finding employment for his mate on Earth once again.

In his spare time Andree plays with programs that emulate late 20th and early 21st century computer games, though on two-dimensional mock up screens. Andree keeps in shape primarily by swimming. His favourite foods are pasta and he is particularly fond of Terran-Italian pasta dishes. He has a great love of music, which is one of the primary similarities he has with his partner Kenneth and plays guitar, electric guitar and bass guitar. He also has some skill with mandolin and several other strum-style stringed guitar-instruments.
