Patrick Law

Broader shoulders, legs, and neck for his height. Speaks with a slight Irish brogue.

Patrick grew up on sheep farm and to combat the boredom, played in a rugby league and was later offered a scholarship to play whilst attending university in Dublin. He went onto university at Trinity in Dublin where he obtained degrees in political science and sociology and excelled in his studies. Patrick almost had his neck broken during his senior year from a vicious fall during a game and decided not to play again after his concussion healed.

After completing his degrees, he was offered a graduate research position to teach as an adjunct professor. However, the more he studied xeno-sociology, the more he decided he'd like to be a practitioner of the study than an author of it. Plus, all the experiences he was hoping to have in an interstellar career could help him write on the subject. He applied to Starfleet and was accepted.

Starfleet Academy wasn't too difficult for Patrick; he was in great shape from rugby and already had experienced the self discipline and dedication needed for advanced study. He felt a little bit out of the water being with others four years his younger, but it often gave him a leadership role among students, across all cadet levels. His previous studies of human and alien cultures gave him an advantage in his core classes and it showed in his class rank.

Patrick graduated with highest honours and was assigned to the Leviathan for his first official tour as a Diplomatic Officer, the liaison between the Leviathan's commanding officers and, as Patrick later found out, a Vulcan Federation Ambassador that would be aboard Leviathan's next cruise. As Patrick continues to learn, Starfleet Diplomatic Officers often serve as the buffers between Federation and Starfleet politics - a position Patrick hopes puts him in the thick of interstellar intrigue.

Patrick Law makes an excellent poker player. His stern appearance exudes a calm and serious demeanour that is only skin deep to those that know him well. A great sense of humour and a great smile while off-duty makes those around him at-ease. However, Patrick is a keen study of people and situations; he knows when it's time for seriousness and time for banter.

Patrick is an excellent sprinter and, to his own mirth as a sociologist, an excellent brawler

Patrick enjoys the company of women and his stout and misses the pubs of Dublin from his own days at University.
