Stellar Cartography

Amy stands at five foot seven and has a trim phsyique, which she keeps in shape through her hobbies and regular work-outs. She has short brown hair and eyes and can often be seen with a 'Mona Lisa' smile on her face.

Amy was born on a meteorological research outpost in New Mexico, Earth. Thanks to spending her early life under clear desert skies she soon developed a fascination for all things astronomical and most of her childhood was spent looking thorough the lens of a telescope. At an early age it became apparent that she had an eidetic memory and that was a major advantage in her academic career but caused her some problems in her personal life as other children found it unsettling. Despite this minor problem she loved her schooling. Her interests were further fuelled by Derwent Black, her high school science teacher, who had spent his youth travelling the galaxy to see stellar phenomena first hand.

Amy decided that specialising in stellar cartography would enable her to continue her research more easily than a more conventional astronomy course. She also took courses in warp field theory and stellar thermodynamics in order to study stellar interactions with warp technology.

Her first assignment was on the USS Albion, a scientific survey ship patrolling the Romulan/Federation border. Due to the highly political nature of the assignment Amy elected to train in basic combat techniques. Although able to look after herself in a fight she would be the first to admit that she is no warrior. From the Albion she went on to the USS Fujiyama where she served until it's destruction during the Barien war .

After the battle she returned to Starfleet Academy where she taught freshman classes in astronomy until the itch for active service became too hard to ignore and therefore she signed up for the position of stellar cartographer on the USS Leviathan-B.

Although quiet and reserved with strangers Amy has a very good sense of humour and finds it difficult to take herself seriously for any length of time. She has an intense curiosity about the Universe and likes to meet as many alien species as possible to share information on their star systems and their cultures.
