It had taken him several days to settle in to his new home, but Saitek seemed to be less than ... pleased with his new digs.
They had neglected to inform him that he would be staying with a room mate. A very smelly, noisy human roommate. Both gents had separate rooms but shared a den, living room and a kitchenette. The room mate was an 80 year old human from Earth, whose pastime was playing music and drinking excessively. His other bad habit was to smoke also.
Deciding to get out for the day, Saitek got up early and took a cab into town in the hope of meeting with his son later for lunch.
When his son failed to arrive or even hail him to let him know why, Saitek decided to stroll back to the square. In so doing his journey took him past the Serenity tourist bureau. With a slow limp Saitek was unaware of the set of eyes that watched him as he passed. The same set of eyes that had greeted him when he first arrived. Ms. Janice Krump had been very smitten with the aged Vulcan and hoped to brighten her day.
"Hello again. So, did you decide to escape from the Square?" she asked with her Southern Georgian accent.
"In a form, yes. Greeting to you as well... Madam," replied Saitek.
"Oh call me Janice. All my friends call me Janice. Say, have you had lunch? I just live a block away and would love to have you over."
"I don't think so... Ms. Janice. Perhaps at a later time," he replied with amusement. I am three time this woman's age, he said to himself.
Sadly she replied, " Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me."
Saitek felt the woman's pain of rejection and stopped. "Actually, I think I would be interested in that... meal," he replied to her delight.
