Donovan dropped the runabout out of warp, plotting a course into the Serenity system. The last several days had been long, but the end of the journey was in sight. Of course, Donovan thought, this end just marks another beginning. Donovan turned towards his fellow passenger, Ensign Thomasen, noticing that she had taken the second pilot's position. Over the course of the trip, Donovan had gotten to know her a little bit and found out that although she was heading to Serenity, but didn't have orders to a specific posting. Shaking his head, Donovan turned his attention back to the controls, activating the comms.
"Serenity approach, this is Starfleet runabout requesting a approach vector to Serenity SAR station, carrying reinforcements and supplies."
After a short pause, a voice came back over the channel. "Starfleet runabout, authenticate personnel on board and security code."
"Serenity, runabout piloted by Chief Petty Officer Donovan with Ensign Carolyn Thomasen on board. Security code 23179-Alpha."
"Runabout, code verified. Coordinates uploaded to your nav system, proceed to landing."
"Thank you, Serenity approach. Runabout proceeding to landing, arrival in 10 minutes."
