Saitek had begun to relax following his rescue from Irimi III. Janice was at work at the tourist bureau and a cool breeze blew through the glass door leading to the balcony. Being Vulcan, he had never enjoyed a cool breeze, preferring the hot winds of Vulcan instead.
Tyvek had finished his shift and had beamed down to Serenity to check on his father's condition. He was absent from the company of Shara, which had returned to her post on the USS Ronin.
Materializing near a pier he immediately recognized a small craft with a 'for sale' sign on its rail.
The small boat was quite large enough to hold a half dozen or so crew, complete with a mast sail and a conventional motor for propulsion. Sitting on the bow of the craft, an old man wearing a old sea captain hat, motioned him to come aboard.
"Ahoy, mate, venture ye come aboard?" said the man.
"Permission to board!" replied the young Vulcaneer.
"Are ye interested in her, lad?" asked the Cap'n.
"Perhaps. Is the craft seaworthy?" asked Tyvek.
"Lad, would ya think I'd be seelin her if she was na seaworthy?"
"The thought did occur to me," replied Tyvek.
"Aye, ya cut me to the quick. Lad, make me a price and I'll consider it a deal."
"I will consider it after I bring my father back to see the craft."
"Aye, she not just be a craft, ya Vulcan, this be the 'Star Princess'," replied the old Cap'n.
Tyvek exited the boat and arrived to his father's room. After he had checked Saitek's vitals he began to tell him about the boat.
"Father, I think buying the craft would be a wonderful hobby for you."
"Very well then, let's go see 'her'," replied Saitek.
Tyvek looked puzzled to hear his father refer to the boat as a feminine entity. Perhaps later he would ask why.
