Jim sat studying the huge amount of messages in his inbox, mail delivery was unreliable on Serenity to describe it at its best. Days would go by where no messages were received and then suddenly subspace interference in the 'Patch' would clear and the inbox would again be full. Jim quickly scanned through the subjects and his attention was drawn to one titled: 'SAR Craft'.
He opened the message and began reading:-

From: SAR Ops/Command
Subject: SAR CraftLieutenant,
I believe by now you should have received your new Yellowstone Mark II runabout, renamed by request to USS Pennine and I hope you are satisfied with the uprated performance the Mark II offers. In addition to this craft, due to the expanding requirements of a Search & Rescue facility in the Briar Patch sector we are also dispatching a Type 11 shuttlecraft. The specifications for this are available on the Starfleet Database, the shuttle will arrive aboard USS Sovereign when they visit the Serenity System later this month, please arrange with the Executive Officer of Sovereign to collect the shuttle as they are on a tight schedule and won't be around Serenity for too long.
I'm sure you and your team will be able to come up with some policy on who will command the Type 11 team, please be sure to forward the policy to me prior to operating the shuttle to ensure we comply with current regulations.

Stone looked up from the console. Time for a meeting, he thought. He tapped the button on his desk and announced via the SAR Unit's comm system, "Senior SAR staff to briefing room." As he tapped the button again, he rose from his seat and pulled his tunic straight before leaving the office.
