Hall sat dwindling in her thoughts. Pain! Much pain she had felt within herself and others. Her journey of exploration aboard the USS Rising Sun was one of the very, very few exploration journeys ordered by Starfleet within the last decade and more. That had been one of her quieter times since joining Starfleet.
"Clark to Hall!" Came the captain's voice of the comm channel.
Hall shook her head to the clear the cobwebs. "This is Hall!" she said.
"Commander, I just received word from Serenity Colony that the President has gone missing. Reports indicate that his craft was shot down!" he indicated.
Hall suddenly had this sheepish feeling come over her. She had not thoroughly read the situation report before departing for Serenity. She had no idea the President was in this sector. She had this feeling that she would be called upon to take up arms before settling in. "Acknowledged. Captain, how much longer to Serenity?"
"Five minutes. I suggest that you gear up, Commander, no doubt that the base commander will want to see you. Clark out!"
Within her buffer, she transported her rifle to her hands. The Aegis Compressor she called it. It was a Type III Enhanced Compression Rifle specifically modified for Aegis-Hall. It carried the standard semi-automatic feature, sniper mode, grenade launcher feature, and faster rate of fire. Aegis' particular model included compact shield generators attached to the gun and her suit, a silent trigger mechanism in which the most enemies couldn't detect the lock, and short range frequency jammer to disable the enemy weapon temporarily. "It looks like it's our time again," stated Hall directing her conversation to her rifle.
