Nico sat down just outside the wreckage of the President's vessel. To one side sat David, the other SAR specialist, and to his other side sat the recovered bodies of the ship's pilot and co-pilot. Despite their best efforts, the body of Starfleet One's engineer was nowhere to be found. As near as Hedley, Johannsen, and Nico could figure, the body was either pulled into space during the hull breach or was dissolved during the leak of the drive plasma. Either way, the body couldn't find found. Although the SAR team's involvement was done here, there was plenty of activity around the wreck with Security and Engineering teams securing the ship.
As Nico sat drinking some water, Hedley walked up and approached him. "Chief, thought you'd like a status update. The engineering area is secured and all leaks are sealed up. Serenity Base and the Marines have sent several detachments and are now in charge of this site."
Nico grunted slightly after hearing the news. "Let's get back to station then. These suits are just about on their last legs what with all the work that we got out of them."
Johannsen looked over at Hedley and Nico. "I agree. These suits were well used on this mission." David reached up and knocked on his chest plate. "Can I keep it, Chief? Huh, can I?"
Nico and Hedley looked over at Johannsen and both laughed. "Well, I suppose so, Mr. Johannsen. I'll tell the boss that you begged and pleaded to keep yours." With that, Nico stood up, emptying his cup of water. "Let's load up and get out of here. Anyone heard how the President is doing?"
