The Breen ship had gone deeper into the Patch with Saitek and Vagh in the prison cell. They had easily dispelled a smaller freighter sent there to retrieve gaseous readings. And now had their sights on a much larger prize, a starship.
"Vagh, look! There on the viewer. It's definitely my old ship!" Saitek exploded.
"How do you know this?" the Klingon woman asked.
"She the largest one in the fleet. The Vengence is larger than the Enterprise."
"The Vengence? You served on the legendary Vengence? It was rumored to be only legend. What post did you hold?" asked Vagh.
"I was the Captain for twenty years. I assumed command after Captain Smith was promoted to Admiral, following the war with the Venturi. This may be to our advantage," replied the elder Vulcan.
The runabout followed in pursuit of the Breen craft with a little surprise up their sleeve.
"L...T..... the last of the gravitic mines have been deployed and are cloaked. Also we are losing our invisibility. The gaseous cloud is dissipating," Gunney reported to Tyvek.
"Excellent! Corporal Smith, pull us to just this side of their phaser range and then one hundred eighty degrees at maximum impulse," Tyvek replied.
"But sir, if we do they'll detect us and follow...."
"Yes, Corporal, that's why we deployed the mines," Gunney answered.
The Breen armed their weapons and began their scraping run on the Vengence. Being much larger it was almost like swatting at it with a broom. The Vengence wasted no time in returning fire and was easily able to power down the Breen ship's engines and weapons, along with the cell door's power.
Saitek and Vagh rushed the bridge and were able to secure a blaster and pin down the Commander and a helmsman.
"YOU ARE VERY GOOD, VULCAN," the Breen Commander commented.
"Actually the term 'experienced' best suits me. Now with your permission I have a call to make." Saitek leaned down to hail his old post. As he did so the image of the runabout appeared from behind a cloud and made a run straight for the Breen ship.
[This is the Starship USS Vengence. Prepare to lower your arms and surrender,] a voice demanded.
"This is retired Captain Saitek, formerly of the USS Vengence. Requesting permission to be rescued."
[Permission granted, sir.]
Tyvek had monitored the call and positioned the runabout alongside the Breen ship. "USS Vengence, this is Lieutenant Tyvek from Serenity Colony. My father is aboard. Request permission to dock."
[Confirmed, Lieutenant. Permission to enter the cargo bay granted.]
