"Raining..."

Author: Nicole Shea, pilot
Earthdate: May 27, 2386
Location: Serenity Space Port

Nicole pulled her leather flight jacket up around her ears, glanced left and right as she slid down the ramp in the spring squall and pondered going back in Vs going to the bar... She hit the palm pad and the hatch sprung closed behind her and she jogged across the tarmac and entered the Saloon.

Inside she reached up and swiped at the rain that was lightly weighting down her hair and quickly braided it as she stood in the entry of the bar. She spotted a lone figure sitting in a corner booth almost in darkness except for a candle burning in a hurricane lamp. It was a man with a round boyish face, bright inquisitive eyes, and a metal hand. He was wearing an emerald green silk shirt with a black vest and black trousers and knee high boots.

Ash spotted Nicole and winked as he poured more whiskey into his shot glass. He watched while she walked towards his table, finishing off her braid as she moved. As she reached the table she pulled off her jacket and tossed it to the back of the booth and slid into the seat directly across from Ash. "Good flight?" he asked.

"As good as could be expected -- I guess." Cargo was moved and loaded on the return. I also took the liberty to swipe some data from the Cardassian Security Directorate, so then when I was dropping off my cargo on Bajor -- I checked around and found a buyer for the information and sold it... I turned around and did some raiding of their computers. Copies of both transactions are on my ship. I need to return to Starbase 901 and download to your main servers."

"Wow," Ash smirked, "and you managed to do this all by your lonesome?"

Nicole cocked her head to the left and looked deep into his eyes and said, "Bite me!"

He ran his fingers though his hair and downed his drink and signaled the barkeep to bring another glass. After the bartender poured Nicole a drink which she tossed off without her eyes straying from Ash's. Several rounds later Nicole slid further into the booth, moving her jacket from between them and finally was close enough and drunk enough that she leaned in and rested her head on his chest and shoulders...
