Tension was now at an all time high. The unidentified ship had fired one transphasic torpedo into the aft section of the Nova class Federation ship USS Benjamin Franklin, nearly crippling the ships ability to maneuver.
At the helm was the ship's first officer a young 29 year old Lieutenant, he had stated that only one impulse engine was functioning and could only go no faster then 1/4 speed.
"Captain Telly it'll take 2 hours to bring the the impulse engines on-line. 7 hours to repair the warp Core. We have hull bulking on decks 5-6." Lieutenant Myers the XO said from his station.
Commander Wallace was very much wanting to take over the tactical station, due to the ships tactical officer was obviously very untested in ship to ship fighting. Wallace paced the bridge and Captain Telly saw this and knew that if her crew were going to fight she needed Wallace and his experience.
"Commander Wallace take over main tactical. Warrant officer take over Tactical two station." Captain Telly replied.
Thank god. Wallace thought to himself as he quickly over took the main tactical station.
Quickly running his fingers over the controls he quickly ID the ship. "It's a Nauscian scout ship. Compliment of 24, equipped with transphasic torpedo's and type IX phasers. They will reach the nebula in 6 and half minutes. Locking on phasers to their engines."
"Very well Commander what do think we should do?" Telly asked turning from her bridge seat to look at the Commander's face.
"Persue at all possible speed and disable them and arrest if possible." Wallace said as fired a phaser burst off hitting the pirate ship in there engines.
"Direct hit their shield are at 67%." Wallace informed the Captain as she turned to see on the view screen.
Damn Wallace thought as the ship turned around and locked it's phasers onto the port side near the main deflector array and fired a burst causing the small Federation ship to jolt and rock to the port. A few minor explosions occurred causing a few injuries.
"Report." Telly screamed as she felt the hit.
"Shields at 89% and holding rerouting power to the shields." Wallace replied as he quickly began to target the ships torpedoes launchers on the Nascuin ship and fired.
The federation photon torpedo hit the underside of the ship and the explosion could be seen from the view screen but Wallace was busy running his scans and locking on his phasers on the opposing ship's engines once more. Then fired the phasers scoring a direct hit.
"Scout ship has suffered 45% power loss and their shields are down. Preparing to disable the ship," Wallace said firing a torpedo and detonation it 13 meters from the ships engine house causing the enemy ship to burn some what.
Cheers rang out on the bridge and Wallace gave a smile. Lieutenant Erin McGrady turned and gave a look of approval at the fact the enemy ships was what appeared to be helpless.
"Captain we have the port impulse drive up to 34% function and the starboard is capable to fully functional." Lieutenant Myers said from his station.
Richard quickly ran a scan and couldn't believe two more ships were approaching from the Nebula. "Ah hell." Wallace barked aloud.
"What's wrong?" Telly asked standing up knowing that something was wrong.
"Well lets say this we have another scout ship approaching at full impulse power and Breen battle cruiser." Wallace said locking all weapons onto the scout ship and then let the volley of 4 torpedoes and 6 phaser shots lose. Instantly destroying the scout ship since Richard knew the shields were useless in the nebula. Once it had left the nebula he would have only a few second window.
The second scout ship exploded in a huge fireball that quickly went out. Wallace knew the Breen Cruiser was the stronger of the two ships and that he'd have to due something unusual.
"Helm full power to the engines and head into the atmosphere of th Gas Giant. If my calculations are correct the Breen Dampening weapon and shields will be useless in that atmosphere." Wallace barked the order with out going over it with Commander Telly.
Lieutenant Myers quickly did what Wallace asked and entered the Atmosphere the same time as the Breen ship fired a disruptor burst 13meters behind the bridge causing a huge explosion, jolting the ship and the crew hard.
Everyone was knocked to the deck when another shot burst into port side of the saucer section. "Sir we have a hull breach on Deck 2-3 emergency force fields in place. Aft and impulse drive is off-line." Myers said reaching his station.
"I thought this atmosphere would shield us Commander?" Telly asked with a frown on her face.
"100 more kilometers their and our scanners will be useless." Richard said as another blase struck the area to the right of the bridge causing a huge explosion. A piece of paneling flew across the room and took of the bridge engineers head. Lieutenant Myers was knocked unconsciousness.
Wallace was throwing to the right and landed on his right should breaking the collar bone causing a separated shoulder. The bridge lights were out except the control panels.
