Brenton felt as if he was floating or rather suspended. His movements felt slightly sluggish like he was moving in a colloidal suspension. A gelatin that had a little too much water in it but was still able to set up slightly. He could faintly see trails as he moved through the water. Losing interest in his immediate surroundings he lifted his head to see what was past his nose. A nova flash of pain shattered any impressions relayed to him via his five senses and instead replaced all five with pain and quickly an all encompassing blackness.
"Dr. Hawking, could you review this for a moment please?" requested Dr. Mallory as he walked, PADD extended.
Setting the journal she had been reading onto her lap Andrea Hawking took the device offered her.
"Ahhh yes. Starfish physiology is rather amazing, even to this day. Is it not?" she offered watching the tissues filmed knitting themselves together as the film advanced.
"Indeed... that's not Echinoderm tissue."
"Indigenous species from the collecting foray.'
Dr. Mallory slowly shook his head. Glancing at the PADD Andrea looked at Brenton, then back at Dr. Mallory nodding his head in the affirmative.
Mike slipped on the headphones and pinged the waters outside his observation bubble to see if Mah-tah-lay was in the area. When the little cetacean thumped his nose on the outside of the bubble Mike grabbed the wireless keyboard from the desk and stretched out on the floor so that his upper body extended to the end of the bubble. Mike adjusted the volume on his music player and typed out his first message, which displayed itself on the HUD incorporated into the material of the bubble.
