The Vengeance arrived in the sector of the wreckage, only to find minutia of alloys and a fierce ionic storm some thirty thousand kilometers away. Brought on by the explosion, the storm had formed due to the fierce radiations in the system that had been building up. At its present course the storm was moving a moderate click out of the patch and would eventually arrive in the New Canada system in a few weeks.
Captain Nala assessed the situation and then made her judgments. Her first course of action was to contact Serenity colony and make her report about the Franklin's demise. Secondly she reported to Commodore Hunter regarding the storm.
"Commodore the Vengeance crew are working on a theory to try and shift the storms course. We have high hopes." Nala reported.
[Excellent work Captain. Keep me informed, Hunter out.]
She then turned in her chair to see the silhouette of Saitek behind her.
"Saitek do you need to see me?" she asked.
"Yes in private." replied the elder Vulcan.
"Mister Jones you have the Con." she said as she arose out of her chair.
The two officers proceeded into the Captains Ready Room.
"What's up sir?" Nala Asked.
"I will not mince words Captain. Doctor Zahn and I have discovered evidence showing that last year I was misdiagnosed with Bendii syndrome. This misdiagnosis was the foremost cause of my being relieved of command. I do not wish to remove you as the ships commander but I feel that this... wrong must be amended." replied Saitek.
"How were you misdiagnosed?" asked Nala.
"Someone with a medical clearance was able to change the diagnosis. Sabotage!"
As they spoke the ship shook violently rendering both to the floor.
"Bridge report?" she ordered crawling through the doors.
"Captain we've been pulled of course due to a subspace wave, we are in the outer belt of the storm," replied the helmsman.
