They had recovered the life pod and had taken the two survivors to sickbay. Now they had to try and save Captain Saitek. Every station was on alert with all hoping for his recovery. Everyone except First Officer Steve Jones.
Jones had been manning Tactical, and was refocusing the sensors to "not" detect the shuttle.
"Any sign of the shuttle Mister Jones?" asked Captain Nala.
"Negative Captain. I am detecting some wreckage in Quad G-5." lied Jones.
The storm had somehow moved into the normal space lanes and was picking up drift due to the warp drafts, commonly called solar winds.
The Deltan Helmsman then added, " Captain sensor ghost are detecting a metallic object in the center of the storm."
"Mister Jones scan that sector."
Jones fumbled with the controls.
"Captain it is the shuttle." Jones decided to not lie.
"Helm replot course, take us to the zenith of the eye." Nala ordered.
"Unadvisable! We can't risk the ship on a whim." Jones replied.
Nala focused on the helm.
"Plot the course."
Saitek awoke to see the storm all around him and the familiar hum of power. He had saved his fide, once again. But for how long?
He was not a novice pilot and soon had the craft rising to the top of the storm. Despite the fact the shields were damaged, the craft was able to flee from the storm just as the Vengeance arrived.
[Shuttle craft prepare to dock.]
Nala , Jones, and Dr. Zahn all arrived to the shuttle bay the moment the craft docked. A few seconds later Saitek exited.
"The rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated." Saitek confirmed.
"Humor is not one of your strong suits sir." Zahn replied.
"Let me guess, I'm to follow you to sick bay?"
"You got that one right."
But Nala interrupted.
"Captain Saitek there's a call for you in my ready room.
Saitek followed her to the room where he was surprised to see an old friends face on the computer monitor.
