"Something Smells a Little Fishy"

Author: Nicole Shea

Nicole lifted ship and headed off for Bajor. She had just entered warp, kicked back with her feet up on the console, when she thought she smelled the fish that had been loaded back in Lake Town. Impossible, she thought to herself, and wrote it off to maybe having stepped on something when she locked up the ramp.

She was an hour out of orbit and just getting ready to transition when a light started blinking in the cargo hold indicating one of the doors was ajar. She sat up in her seat and ran a check on the hold, and accessed the video recorder and cam. She checked to make sure the small stunner that Ash gave her was located securely in the band of her pants and covered by the ancient leather bomber jacket she wore at all times. When the trouble light didn't clear and she though she'd seen a shadow or two on the screen she quickly typed up and sent a subspace message to a repeater station which would signal to Ash, since he was in the area himself, to join her at port.

She locked the bridge down and stayed holed up until she landed and then she secured the comp with a code only she and Ash knew and proceeded to check out the hold with planetary security and cargo handlers waiting.

She entered the hold, and found to her surprise, an older man sitting on one of the crates of fish, and he greeted her in Romulan noblese... She blinked, as she'd only heard it in passing on the station. In one hand he lifted a flask to his lips, but the other hand held a wicked looking disruptor.

"Excuse me." She said in standard, "Get off my ship!" With that she turned and walked the three steps to hit the ramps green switch. To her immediate right sparks and frags of superheated pieces of the bulkhead flew. She turned, poker faced, and leaned against the frame of the door as it slowly rose, and taunted, "is that the best you can do?"

Charlie Steadman stood, with a smile and slighly pointed ears poking out throught he gray/blond hair, "No, and you'd best cooperate with me missy. I'm a wanted man."

"Not by me you're not." She glared and waved the cargo crews onboard. Security entered and asked, "We heard a ruckus and what was possibly a disruptor blast... is there a problem here?" The head female security officer asked looking from Nicole to Charlie.

"He's a stowaway." Nicole said and indicated Steadman.
