Trip to Hades

Dr. Grissom rang the buzzer at her compartment and Jayme being there alone answered the door to find the distinguished Colonel from the surface standing there with a PADD inhand.  "May I come in?"

"Uh, sure.  Sorry."  Jayme motioned him in and to a chair, and said, "Would you like something to drink?"  Jayme stopped next to the replicator. 

He sat in one of the seats and looked up and said, "No, but you can have something."

Jayme pulled a cup of herbal tea and then moved to the other seat and sat with her legs crossed under her.  She adjusted her arm in her sling and patiently waited.

"I've viewed your records from Lt. Commander Bentara."  He reached into to his pocket and pulled out two bottles of medications.  Here's a thirty day supply of both of your meds.  I agree with her on this line of treatment.  I also want you to take a medication each night and it will help with sleep and help decrease the nightmares. I also agree with her orders to monitor your weight.   After we leave orbit then you are to resume seeing her two days a week on an out patient status."

"Fine."  Jayme said taking a sip of her tea. 

He looked at her and after running his thumb cross his chin looked into her eyes and started rapid firing questions at her, "Are you now suicidal?"

"No."

"Have you been or had thoughts of suicide in the last three months?"

"Yes."

"Are you having almost daily nightmares?"  He asked.

"Yes, but it's not always the same one-- some times there is an older one that comes into play."  Jayme said closing her eyes briefly.

He watched her eyes open and then asked, "What are you afraid of?"

She meet his eyes and said, "being someone’s mother."

“Is it possible you will hurt the infant?"   -"-NO!"  Jayme said shaking her head emphatically.

"What do you want to change?  What would make life easier for you?"

"My husband and I being stationed on the same base... We were getting it together on SB901, before I was deployed."

"How do you and your husband Dr. Fletcher plan to work this out."

"We are going to spend part of our time on the marine base and the rest in the city.  When I am in the city I will do clinicals and also study for my medical degree.  Oh, yeah and I will see counsellor Karissa.  You can check with my husband.  So, do you think I belong locked up?"

"Not at this time.  I will meet with your husband and I will meet with you again before you are released from the Hades.  If you want to talk after a nightmare, the on duty officer can locate me.  Good night."
