"Dr. Fletcher, thank you for meeting with me. I've read your wife’s history, I've spoken with her, and now I wanted your take on how she's coping."
Nathan took a seat across from Grissom. "Jayme is very introverted and its taken us a long time to gain her confidences. But the events on the McCoy while she was deployed, and dealing with her "Mother" and then coming up pregnant has stressed her coping skills beyond her ability. She sees that this all comes into conflict with her remaining a Marine."
"Do you?"
"No, I don't see that there is a conflict. She can run the base--with proper help. She can finish her schooling as she is real close to finishing; and as for the baby--she won't be doing it alone."
"Where do you want to live and what about your career?"
"I've talked to my boss at Paladin and since the marine base doesn't have a physician I am going to take a full time slot out there. I've sent some contractors out there and they are remodelling her flat there so that it will be family oriented and more comfortable--that's a surprise that I want to give her when we head back from base. Anyway, I plan to work 8 shifts a month at Paladin while Jayme's in town studying and getting counselling."
"How about these nightmares?"
"Until she'd been admitted inpatient for Karissa did I learn the extent of them. I believe they are improving and with continued support, counselling, and meds--she will beat them."
"Do you Dr. Fletcher have any concerns about her having this baby or hurting the infant?"
"No. None at all, and like I said, she won't be alone in this deal." Nathan said, adjusting his position in his chair.
"Okay, do you have any concerns or questions you want to ask me?"
"None at this time, except are you discharging her back to inpatient care at Paladin?"
"No, I'm going to obtain a verbal and written contract from her tomorrow to stay with the plan of treatment that will extend to Dr. Bentara. Then give her a chance as an outpatient to make it or break it. You will be an important part of keeping her straight and narrow. She should be done with Aidan's rehab session. They'll be in the gym. I'll see you again before you head back down to the planet. Good night."
