James Jackson, Colonel SFMC, sat behind Major Alcon's desk and waited with a cup of coffee.  He had the reports from Lt. Commander Bentara, and Chief Medical Officer Hancock.  He'd gone above and beyond and contacted the CO of the MC ship 'Hades' when it reached orbit to have Jayme Alcon evaluated by their medical and psychiatry staff and he'd just finished reading those reports and had spoken with Lt. Sidle and knew that the Major would be in her office for part of the day.

Jayme unable to find a uniform that would fit after six weeks of being off duty she finally settled on a set of BDU's that had been way to big but in the field it allowed for layering.  She tucked in the T-shirt, but left the blouse loose.  She managed to get her boots bloused and her hair pulled back and off her collar.  Nathan had already left their quarters for the infirmary.  She stopped by there on her way to her office and donated a blood sample and other samples so that Nathan could analyze them and send the reports to CMO Hancock.

She walked into her office at ten minutes after nine to find the Colonel sitting there with his fingers intertwined behind his head. He looked her up and down and noted that she was wearing the MC field BDUs instead of her standard SFMC uniform.  "You're out of uniform Major!"

She came to immediate attention and snapped off a "Sir!"  She waited, waited, and waited...finally he nodded and said, "At ease Major."

"Sir."  She said, moving to at ease stance.

"Major, I understand that you are on light duty and still under medical care.  What I want to know is," and he slammed his hand down on her desk, "should I keep you in the corps or discharge your ass...  That stupid assed stunt into the mountains, the violation of medical orders, and your time away from your duties that have had to be covered by others.  Not to mention you are behind in the plans for you to complete your studies."

She made eye contact with him but was proud of not jumping with the slap to the desk.  "Permission to speak, sir?"

"Granted."  He said resting his elbows on the arms of the chair. His Georgian accent became more pronounced as he got more mad.

"I regret that I have had some issues since returning from the McCoy--that deployment hit me hard both physically and mentally sir.  I take full responsibility for my failure to maintain my duties and pursuit of my medical degree.  I also need to explain that I am six months pregnant and I have been having complications and will remain on light duty.  I am happy to announce we now have a real medical officer-- Lt. Commander Fletcher, MD."

"That's good.  I've seen the orders for several more transfers to your command. I've seen your request to promote Lt. Sidle to rank of Captain.  I will review her records and let you know."  He took a sip of his coffee and then shook his head, and said, "Major you have six months to graduate and pass your boards.  You have staff fighting and tearing up the lounge--get your people under control or I will.  Dismissed!"  He made some notes on a padd while she did an about face and stepped out of the room.

She walked down the hall and stepped into a head and leaned against the wall and took slow deep breathes praying that the baby didn't start getting agitated too.  Finally, Jayme stepped out of the bathroom and walked into Sara's office to find her doing paperwork.   She sat down in a chair and Sara stood and walked around her desk and went to the mini replicator and ordered, <Mint tea, hot--triple sweet.>  She handed the cup to her boss and noted that the hand that took the cup was shaking.  "Just got my ass chewed by the Colonel."

"I'm going to call Nathan."  She said reaching up to tap her comlink.

Jayme shook her head and said emphatically, "--No!."  She took a sip of the hot tea and closed her eyes for a few minutes and then when she opened them she felt better.  "Can you check my blood pressure?  and do you have your kit handy?"

"Okay.  She pulled a blood pressure cuff out of her desk drawer and wrapped it around Jaymes' arm and proceeded.  "It's up there major, 160/94.  Having any other symptoms?

"I can feel my pulse in every artery of my body.  Its hard to take a deep breath...and the baby is kicking like hell.  Do you have a mild anti-anxiety med in your kit?"  She looked up into Sara's face when she asked.

"Yeah, but I really think I should send you over to the infirmary and have Dr. Fletcher look at you."

"I've already been there.  As soon as the Colonel leaves my office then I'll just go in there and work for a couple of hours and then go back to quarters.  Sara pulled the hypospray out of a small kit and touched it to the Majors neck.  "Okay.  Call me if you start having contractions or feeling worse.  I want to check your pressure before you leave HQ."  She watched Jayme stand and walk back out into her office.

Inside the Major found the room empty and walked over and took a seat on her desk.  She folded her arms and rested her head on them and took a mini break.  She sat up ten minutes later and proceeded to sort though the hardcopy paper work on her desk.  She found the report from security where two of her people had been in an altercation with several of the pilots...damaging the lounge.  She sat back and realized that that was the incident that the Colonel had referred to.  She checked the date and it was the day before she was released from the 'Hades'.  She scrubbed her face with both hands and was nauseated from the headache pounding all through her head and neck.

Sara knocked on the door before entering and moved in to wrap the BP Cuff on her arm and checked her pressure and found it was still higher then acceptable, and touched her comlink stepping away from Jayme.  "Lt. Sidle to Dr. Fletcher."

[Dr. Fletcher, here.]  He said pausing in his inventory of the infirmary.

"Sir, Major Alcons BP is 140/90 after a dose of Rexalin.  She's got a headache, nausea, but no contractions at this time.  She had a run in with the Colonel several hours ago.  Orders?"

[Give her 25 mg apressoline orally, and have one of your corpsmen walk her back to quarters.  Jayme, go home and go to bed.  I'll be there soon as I can.]

She touched her combadge again and called, "Sgt. Dayrne to the Majors office on the double."

"Oh, hell do you have to call Kama in on this?"  Jayme put several files away while Sara got the med that Nathan ordered and handed it to her and she took it with the rest of her cold tea.  "Why didn't you tell me about the fight, Lieutenant?"

"It was handled by myself and Captain Makan, Ma'am."  Sara looked at the door as Kama entered and came to attention.

"Ma'am."  She said smiling, then asked, "Are you back?"

"Only for a few hours a day, Sergeant."  Jayme stood and started around her desk.  "Seems I'm not able to find my way to my quarters without an escort.  Sara thought you were an appropriate choice to escort me."

"Yes, Ma'am.  No problem."  She said turning to Sara and asking the silent questions.

Sara shook her head, and said, "Dr Fletcher is in the infirmary working...he wants her escorted to quarters and tucked in and you're to wait until he returns to quarters."

"Yes, Ma'am!"  Kama turned and waited for Jayme to lead the way.

Ten minutes later Jayme was in quarters, made herself a snack, before walking into her room leaving the door open between the living room and the bedroom where she peeled out of her BDU's and crawled back into bed and waited for Nate to return.  She could hear Kama moving around and every once in a while she could see a shadow in the door way checking on her.  " Kama go sit your ass down, that's' and order."

The shadow disappeared.  Several hours later she woke to the sounds of a tricorder beep and found Nathan sitting on the edge of the bed checking on her.
