Captain Saitek had been very helpful in securing the continued treaty with the Klingon Empire for a tleast one more day. And now he was going back home to Serenity to settle some matters.
The first matter was to check in on Tyvek, as he had not seen or heard from him in over three months. And secondly to check in on Janice.
As the Powell entered the system Saitek began to have an uneasy feeling.
"Captain we are being tracked by some form of probe. It has attached itself to our hull." Reported the Tactical Officer.
"Scan and analyze."
"Scanning.... It appears to be a gravimetric mine with a magnetic seal."
Saitek was very concerned by this and immediately acted.
"Chief Engineer ! Meet me in the cargo bay !" Commanded the Vulcan.
*OUTSIDE*
The Chief and Captain had dawned EVA suits and had walked outside to investigate the object. Having a Tellarite for an engineer was very helpful, except for wearing a space suit.
"Mr. Boeka, what do you make of it?"
"Very sophisticated piece of work. Definitely Federation in origin. It has been encoded with a signature code. If I try to deactivate it without the correct code it will explode." Explained the Engineer.
"And us along with it." Stated Saitek.
