Cloak and Dagger : Part Two

The hand full of crew manned their posts for over a day on red alert. Waiting for some form of movement from the aggressor that had tried to blow up the ship.

During that time, Tyvek filled Saitek in on the sudden change in command on the base.

" Then you are saying that Commodore Hunter is no longer in command. That the President has made this , Adama , Military Governor? Are the residents in agreement of this?" asked Saitek.

" I am not completely sure. I departed the very day Governor Adama assumed command." replied Tyvek.

" This is not logical. In order for this to pass the Council all of the Security council would have to have been in agreement. And I can assure you the Vulcan' s would never have agreed on this. Unless!" replied Saitek.

" Unless what?" asked Tyvek.

" Unless someone or thing has been able to infiltrate even the Vulcan Hegemony." replied Saitek.

Tyvek listened as he saw distress in his fathers face.

" Tyvek you must return to Serenity. We have to have a set of eyes and ears down there. You must befriend this, Adama, until we can determine if he is legidament. Will you do this?" asked Saitek.

" Father I must object to your irrational objectiveness to the situation. However, I must conclude that not all of the lose ends add up. I will return but how will I be able to contact you?" Tyvek asked.

" My Chief Engineer will be able to rig up an untraceable means of communication. I will have the log on the runabout altered to show that the *POWELL* met with a tragic loss. Return to Serenity and pretend that you are in morning over the loss of your father. I am afraid you will have to break your promise to your mother." added Saitek.

Tyvek raised an eyebrow!

" You are going to have to ... lie my son. It is very strange that on the eve of getting rid of the Starbase all of a sudden the Commodore is replaced with a military governor. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this governor is about to impose martial law, as a security precaution." replied Saitek.

*A FEW HOURS LATER *

Tyvek returned to his runabout, complete with the altered computer reading and an untruth on his lips. All of this in order to honor his father's suspicions.

Nearing Serenity, he hailed the base and received confirmation to land.

From there he passed through the base security protocol and reported to Governor Adama's office to make his report.
